Free YouTube Downloader lets you easily download videos from YouTube and convert them to viewable video formats for your desktop, tablet, or other mobile device. It supports output to AVI, WMV, MOV, MP3, MP4, and many more formats. If you want the ability to save and view YouTube videos while offline, this is the tool to use.
Free YouTube Downloader is simple. Grab the URL of a YouTube video, paste it into Free YouTube Downloader, choose your output format and preferred video quality, then click Download. That's it. You can even save in high definition (720p or 1080p).
We would have liked to be able to name a file before downloading and saving it. But that's a minor inconvenience. Also, when installing, be sure to read carefully and uncheck items as needed. Otherwise you may find some unwanted installs, including a search toolbar and several partner shortcuts on your desktop.
Overall, Free YouTube Downloader is a highly recommended program that performs its singular function perfectly.

None except the forced CNET installer (which is a pain). Hope CNET provides direct download link also.

The old larger setup screen I found easier to follow "more user friendly". Also it seemed to give me more info about previous downloads and kept my preferred download settings.
Also noted that older version seemed to react quicker when copying YouTube download bookmarks.Summary

Nothing but error messages
Summary
It used to work. Now I get nothing but error messages when I get anything at all. Also, it tries to sneak a tool bar and search engine onto your computer...it changed my Google Chrome settings. You have been warned!
