Free YouTube Download is an easy-to-use program that allows users to download YouTube videos and save them in a variety of formats. Although we've seen similar programs with more features, this program is a good choice for users who need a basic YouTube downloader.
The program's interface is somewhat sparse, but it's still pretty intuitive. Users simply go to YouTube, copy the URL of the video they want to download, and then paste it into Free YouTube Download. Users select the output folder and name, and then choose from among AVI, MP4, and FLV file formats, each of which is available in two different quality levels. Click the Download button and the program saves the video to the specified destination. The program is quite quick and easy to use, and is appropriate for users of all levels. We do wish that Free YouTube Download had a Help file, as there are some features, such as the proxy server options, that may not be familiar to everyone. But for basic downloads it works fine. Our only other complaint is that we've seen similar programs that allow users to download videos from a variety of Flash video sites, such as Hulu and Dailymotion, in addition to YouTube. Some users may wish to seek out programs with more versatility, but if a YouTube downloader is all you need, Free YouTube Download is a good choice.

Summary
I have tried Youtube downloader & Converter and the problem with that is first you have to spend time getting the individual videos and playlists downloaded, then you have to spend forever getting each video converted one at a time and you have to pay like $60 to be able to select more than one file to convert at a time. I also tried Youtube downloader and the problem with that is I could only download one video at a time, excluding playlists, which is very time consuming.
I just tried Free Youtube Download and it is so great. Not only does it download multiple videos and playlists at once, but it also automatically converts the videos. Not only that, but it is very easy to use, and it's free! It takes like 5-10 minutes for each video to download and convert, but I just leave my computer and let it keep working in the background until it's done.
As for the toolbar comment that someone else left, this software does come with some added things to download, but if you just read each screen before clicking next, you will see that it gives you the option of downloading a toolbar and mayeb one other piece of software. Uncheck the boxes of what you don't want, and it won't download. It's a simple as that. So whoever complains about this program downloading unwanted additions is guilty of not reading what each page of the installation process says and just clicking the next button. -
