At first glance, this free utility seems exactly like the Windows Quick Launch bar. One major difference makes it far handier, though. With Free Launch Bar, you can add not only shortcuts, but entire pop-up menus of shortcuts. It's kind of like having as many Start menus as you can build. Interface options allow you to change icon size, fonts, and other minor display options. You even can password-protect your new menus to lock out changes. People who find the default Quick Launch bar too small for all their shortcuts will appreciate Free Launch Bar.Publisher's description
From Tordex :Free Launch Bar is a replacement for the standard Quick Launch bar. All functions presented in Quick Launch also are in Free Launch Bar. However, the Free Launch Bar is fully compatible with Quick Launch because it uses the same folder for shortcuts. However, there is one huge difference. Free Launch Bar allows you to combine your shortcuts into groups. This feature looks similar to pop-up menus. This improves the management of your shortcuts and saves working space on your desktop. By using Free Launch Bar, you speed up the launching of your applications like never before.

Version: Free Launch Bar 1.0
Pros: Good idea!
Cons: Well, I am sure that other people are very happy with this tool, but the moment I activated it, it destroyed my screen and locked up my computer in such fashion that I had to give it a hard reset.

Version: Free Launch Bar 1.0
"Says what it does and does what it says"
Pros: With Windows XP and version 1.0 of the Free Launch Bar, I have not experienced the problems others had and feel this utility works well - really well once you understand how to set it up. The main thing to do is to scrunch up the Free Launch Bar quick launch bar it creates so you can right click on the part of the menu that pops up entitled, of all things, Free Launch Bar. Clicking on a new shortcut allows you to browse to the specific program .exe file in its associated folder of the C:\program files\ folder to create a shortcut that will then appear on the Free Launch Bar menu next time you check. Same thing when creating a new FLB quick launch menu. You can unscrunch it when you finish setting it up.
Cons: How can anyone find fault with a great simple and free utility that works? I know I can't, at least at the moment.
