But I must point out that freedownloadmanager.org does have their own section of downloads, where you can download pretty much anything you want, and a fractions of those downloads contain adware/trojans, as mentioned by siteadvisor.com.

i was going to download a demo of a game which was over 200 mb and WITHOUT this download manager it would have took over 4 hours, WITH the download manager it was only 50 minutes.
and it would keep the speed stable, it wouldn't suddenly change from 68 to 48 and then to 70 and blah blah blah.

FDM integrates well with IE and Firefox to provide blazing fast downloads. The latest version also adds BitTorrent support, which is a nifty feature for those looking for an integrated download product. The UI is quite nice, with all options/buttons marked clearly. Configuring it is quite simple too, since there are settings for just about everything imaginable. All in all, FDM packs quite a punch, and all that for free!

OK im trying to download Enemy Territory: Quake Wars Demo just as its being released. So all the servers are busy and I cant get the file.. So out of frustration I come to Cnet to get a download manager/accelorator. First I got DAP -- crappy little program that didnt do squat, the speeds wer all over the place... So I try Free download manager -- Bam no problems at all - Now I can download a file that I couldnt get just a few min - BUT I am downloading the file As I write this and it says it will be done in about 19min!!!!!!!. thats incrediable, Considering its the launch of the Demo and all the servers are jammed up.. Wow I am Impressed with this little program..... IT should have gotten 5 stars from C/net. but hey what the hell do they know??. LOL . they have rated programs in the past with good rating -- while overwhelmingly the users gave it a bad rating- Just goes to show you , cnet doest know everything.
