The Free Convert to Divx AVI WMV MP4 MPEG Converter is an application for converting your video files into another supported format.
The features of this application are pretty simple. All you need to do is click Add to select a video and then click Convert to start the process. The time varies, depending on the file size. Also, the Format and Profile options that you choose will influence the conversion time. AVI video format seems to take longer (10 to 15 minutes for a 15-minute video), but MPEG-4 video is done in about 2 minutes for the same video size. The quality varies. Setting the Profile to Source made the images in the video blurry and a little delayed. Setting it to Higher or Highest quality resulted in a clear video, with no sound problems.
There's a tutorial available with images to make the instructions even easier to understand. There's also a FAQ page available, and links to the publisher's Web site and e-mail address. You can also quickly check for upgrades with the Upgrade button.
The download process was fast. Certain aspects of the installation process could be confusing to the average computer user, but there shouldn't be any significant issues once you get past that point, and it doesn't take very long to set everything up.

EVERYTHING! Is this for real? I thought CNET was a site that I could trust. This thing installed a toolbar on my browser and tons of other spyware, I don't even know how to get rid of it. I'm SO UNBELIEVABLY PISSED right now. Seriously, don't download this junk. I uninstalled as much as I could, but something is still messing with my computer and I don't know how to fix it. Ridiculous.

ADWARE, ADWARE, ADWARE. Installed so much garbage on my computer that I almost considered a system rollback, but I tracked it all down and uninstalled it.
Cannot handle HD mov files.Summary
If you're in a pinch to do a conversion, this can be useful, but the pros are outweighed by the sheer amount of garbage this will install on your machine.

Summary
I download a lot of software and keep only what I like. I don't have this anymore soooo. I don't recall anything good or bad about this one so I guess it didn't suck severely or I would have remembered that. I chose one called Any Video Converter. My main issue with all of these programs is in converting VOB to AVI. The longer the VOB the more the audio goes out of sync. I guess I could split them but then I would have to join them back again. And that just seems a bit much. Like my review of a product I didn't care for. But it's Monday morning and I'm bored, soooooo.
