CNET Editors' review
Digital imaging and graphic design software is often the victim of one of two problems: either it's too advanced for everyone but expert users, or it's too basic to do anything very useful. FotoMorph is one of the rare programs that manage to deliver impressive results with very little know-how. This fun application lets users create animations that morph one photo into another, no experience required.
The program's interface is attractive and intuitive. It does contain some advertising, but it's fairly unobtrusive. We appreciated the fact that the program comes with a sample project, allowing users to see exactly how a particular result was achieved. With FotoMorph, users can create animated sequences in which images morph, pan, and warp. For example, the sample project features a photo of a woman who morphs into the Mona Lisa, who then turns her head and winks. It sounds complex and difficult to achieve, but a bit of time spent playing with the program reveals that these types of effects aren't terribly challenging. The program's Help file is well-written and pretty thorough, although it would have benefited from the use of more screenshots to illustrate the features it describes. We did like the fact that there's a tutorial that explains the entire creation of the Mona Lisa sample project. Overall, we liked FotoMorph quite a bit. It does require a bit of experimentation, but once you get the hang of it, it's easy to use and a whole lot of fun.
FotoMorph installs a desktop icon without asking but uninstalls cleanly. We recommend this program to everyone.

"Very disappointing"
Version: FotoMorph 13.7.1
Pros
No hickups during installation.
Cons
Very obtuse controls & functions. Fails to export the animation true to the project you create. End up wasting effort on creative work that doesn't show in the animation. All formats are a failure except for .avi
Summary
An app either works, or it doesn't. Don't bother downloading.

"Includes FunMoods spyware"
Version: FotoMorph 13.5
Pros
If you want to install spyware, this is your baby.
Cons
Includes FunMoods spyware into your browser. Why doesn't CNET know this?

"A little tricky but the results were amazing!"
Version: FotoMorph 13.4.2
Pros
A lot of options on trial that are in the full version. It allows you to really get an idea of what the product can do
Cons
A lot of tabs and side bars, so it was a bit tricky to work with

"Delivers a morph of anyone & anything."
Version: FotoMorph 13.4.2
Pros
Very lightweight program; although not totally intuitive, the interface can be used the first time out by someone who has basic knowledge of photo-manipulation software.
Cons
The transition is not quite as smooth as I'd like because of very mild pixelation.
Summary
You'd have to pay in both computing power and cash up front to get a better segue--for the price and weight, it's great fun!

"A Fun and Attractive Program .."
Version: FotoMorph 13.2.6
Pros
It's a fun program that is quite easy to learn and is also visually appealing and of course Free.
Cons
I have found the output file of Gifs to be rather large and have tried dropping the frames per second and reducing all available settings but can't seem to get a 2 photo, 3 second gif morph to under 700 Kbs (The first one I tried was 3 Mbs)
Summary
I just wanted something for a bit of fun that was free and this software certainly fits the bill. It's a very attractive program and produces a good quality output, although perhaps rather on the large size, but maybe I'm doing something wrong with the settings ? ..Perhaps I should use a gif compressor afterwards ? .. But anyways, I love it and I'm keeping it !
As a footnote then I'm quite sure that the recent Virus Alerts on CNET (inclusive of the one below) are actually the CNET installer itself (400K) as that contains a toolbar. Even my ESET 5 picks that up EVERY time as a virus/malware and I either just ignore it and untick the checked boxes on the installer or sign into CNET and use the Direct Download link. Either ways the program FotoMorph does not have a virus.
