Font design isn't easy, but FontCreator simplifies the process with an intuitive interface and tons of features. Its specialized drawing tools allow you to design glyphs one by one. If you're not patient enough to start from scratch, it's easy to import an existing TrueType font (TTF) and get started modifying the smallest of details. You also can convert images to glyphs, which allows you to turn a logo or your handwriting into a custom font. That said, it's the bonus utilities that elevate FontCreator to professional caliber. Glyph Transformer lets you instantly boldface, rotate, or alter every character in a font. You also can set kerning, change character-to-glyph mapping, and validate fonts to detect common problems. FontCreator's wealth of features and recently improved ease of use make it a great choice for type designers of all skill levels.Publisher's description
From High-Logic :This professional font editor allows you to create and edit TrueType and OpenType fonts. It has the powerful drawing tools that typographers and graphic designers require, and an intuitive interface that allows beginners to become productive immediately. When you create or open a font, FontCreator displays an overview of all available characters. You can simply add missing characters, or select an existing character, and modify its appearance. You can import (scanned) images of your signature or company logo, or make a font from your own handwriting. Other features include the ability to preview fonts before installing, and a font installation wizard that makes your fonts available to other applications. FontCreator also lets you fix character mappings, correct font names, and modify and clean up kerning pairs.
Version 5.6 comes with improved generation of composites, enhanced transformation scripts, and significant revisions to the manual kerning process.

Pros: This program is very easy to use, and is one of my favorites of all time. You are only limited by your imagination, the sky is the limit.

Version: FontCreator 5.6
Pros: When I found FontCreator on the Internet I was astonished how this editor
works. In a glance I understood how to get on with the tools. It only took
few seconds to transform my typefaces into italics with the Glyph
Transformer and it even adjusted the number of degrees! FontCreator is
exactly the editor I was looking for. A fantastic editor which I can
recommend to anyone!

Pros: With FontCreator I found an editor that displays all kind of tools in a
well-organized way. Because of the diversity of tools I think there is
for anybody something useful to find. It's amazing how easy it works.

Version: FontCreator 5.6
Pros: FontCreator is a very powerful tool with many advanced features. FontCreater is valuable beyond just the creating of fonts as well. The ?Install Current Font? command alone makes the application worth owning especially if you have to work with different versions of the same font or have to swap out fonts of the same name. The Validation tools are also very nice. I highly recommend Font Creator.

"Excellent way of creating fonts,does everything for you"
Pros: Does exactly what you want in a very simple way once you're up to speed.
Cons: Characters somewhere beyond the lowercase alphabet are not in numeric order and the program doesn't tell you what the character code number is. Those characters get overwritten with other characters (something to do with pasting one char on another?)
