CNET Editors' review
It's not feature rich, but this simple add-on creates a new option to see the size of folders in Windows Explorer. Though Folder Size proved very easy to use, a Help file or other guide would have been beneficial to let new users know what steps to take to use this program. After installation, you'll need to make sure Windows Explorer is set to Details view, then you can right-click anywhere in the right-hand pane and you'll find the new Folder Size column option. You'll now see the new information as you browse folders. Folder Size doesn't offer an extensive feature set, but it does exactly what it says and any user concerned with folder size will benefit from this simple freeware tool.Publisher's Description
From Brio:
Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it.
What's new in this version: Version 2.5 fixes to cache integrity, preventing it from getting corrupt or losing sync with the real file system.

"Very satisfied"
Version: Folder Size 2.5
Pros
This is a single-purpose program, and very simple one. When it works, it is difficult to rate it a 4- or 5- stars.
Cons
Having used the old version for a few years, I found none. The new version does not seem to be any different.
Summary
There are 20 comments on the current version as I am writing this, with 14 persons rate this program version 2 and 1 stars. When examining closer, 12 of the 14 were dissatisfied that this program does not work with their Windows version though 2 of them were very satisfied when installing on XP machines. So, the remaining 6 commentaters who can use this program with their XP machines rated this program a 4- or 5- stars.

COMPUTABLE who gave this program 5.0 stars "Go to the developers website first for instructions!" on July 9, 2011 details the steps you need to follow to use this program. Without these steps the program does not seem like working. Or, go to the program author's website for same -- plus a tiny bit more.

"Go to the developers website first for instructions!"
Version: Folder Size 2.5
Pros
Works wonderfully for Windows 2000 or XP (just like the developer says) at http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/using.html
Cons
Does NOT work for VISTA or Windows 7, unfortunately
Summary
Instructions for Setting it Up:
(1) First, make SURE that you're running Windows 2000 or XP. Sorry, it doesn't work in Vista or 7.
(2) Download the installer (regular 32-bit) (XP x64).
(3) Run the downloaded file to start the install wizard. It has boring template text, so just keep clicking Next.
(4) Now the Folder Size column is available to Explorer, but Explorer isn't displaying it yet. Open an Explorer window in Details view.
(5) Right click on the column headers to see a list of columns you can add. Choose Folder Size.
(6) Now we can replace the existing Size column with the new Folder Size column. Right click on the column headers and uncheck the Size column. Drag the Folder Size column header to where Size used to be.
(7) Make this the default view for all folders. Go to Folder Options from the Tools menu. In the View tab, click Apply to All Folders. -

Version: Folder Size 2.5
Pros
a wonderful to organize your disks in any OS. helps me a lot while using WXP, Alas, won't work in win 7. really saves the need to click on each and every folder to get an idea about size management, cool.
Cons
WONT WORK IN WIN7, both the x64 and x86 version will not work in win 7.
Summary
I;d give it a 5 stars for XP but 0 for W7, 5/0 should be 0 but I am not so cruel :-) . sp I'd give it 2 stars cause it helps me a lot in XP and I'd have liked them to create a W7 version
