CNET Editors' review
It's not feature rich, but this simple add-on creates a new option to see the size of folders in Windows Explorer. Though Folder Size proved very easy to use, a Help file or other guide would have been beneficial to let new users know what steps to take to use this program. After installation, you'll need to make sure Windows Explorer is set to Details view, then you can right-click anywhere in the right-hand pane and you'll find the new Folder Size column option. You'll now see the new information as you browse folders. Folder Size doesn't offer an extensive feature set, but it does exactly what it says and any user concerned with folder size will benefit from this simple freeware tool.Publisher's Description
From Brio:
Folder Size for Windows adds a new column to the Details view in Windows Explorer. The new column shows not only the size of files, but also the size of folders. It keeps track of which folders you view, and scans them in the background so you can see complete size of all files within the folder. It's very useful for cleaning up your disk. Once you get used to having that information available, a directory listing simply looks incomplete without it.

"This should be standard for any Windows OS"
Version: Folder Size 2.3
Pros
It does what it promisses to do. Especially when you have to deal with many different folders through a network, not to mention the facility it provides when maintaning the system clean
Cons
Haven't fount this feature yet.
Summary
I first got in contact with this program on a CD that came with a Computer's Magazine, over ten years ago. The description said that it would be something that after a while, that little collum would seem so natural there that when you couldn't find it you'd feel it very strange. Well, that's absolutelly true! I had to migrate to the x64 plataform and this program doesn't seem to be compatible. WHERE IS MY FOLDER SIZE COLLUM????

"Adds folder size column to Windows Explorer"
Version: Folder Size 2.3
Pros
Does one thing and does it well. Great little program!
Cons
None that I've found.

Allows you to see how much data is stored in a folder without opening or right clicking and opening properties. Very handy for easily finding where large files are stored.

"Does not do as it says"
Version: Folder Size 2.3
Pros
None, doesn't work
Cons
The information says it adds a column to Windows Explorer called Folder Size. It does not. If it works, I can find no evidence of it.
Summary
Doesn't work in any way shape or form. No operating system is specified in the information, I am using Vista. Perhaps it works in other environments.

"Used this for years, GREAT."
Version: Folder Size 2.3
Pros
Used it for at least two years now, and it's held up. Simple, no frills, does exactly what it says it does.
Cons
A teensy bit slow but only when it first calculates the folder sizes - takes maybe a minute or two, especially with larger hard drives - but it updates on the fly so no problem there.
Summary
Love it, am downloading it for multiple computers both at work and home.
-

"Very good little program"
Version: Folder Size 2.3
Pros
It doesn't do a whole lot, but what it does it does well. I've even seen sizes of folders, etc., that I never saw with Windows "size". Recommended highly for those who care about such things.
