- Version reviewed: FlashGet 1.8.0.1
FlashGet looks and feels like a download accelerator worth paying for, which makes it all the more appealing since it's free.
After installation, a small dark icon with three lightly-colored triangles will appear in the upper right corner of your monitor. Until you place it elsewhere, the FlashGet icon will live there permanently, and is always "on top" of whatever program you're using at the time. Simply drag the link you want to download onto the FlashGet icon, drop it and hit the Okay button; the file will start downloading automatically. We were able to download a 215MB file in less than 90 seconds with FlashGet, shaving more than a minute off the regular download time.
FlashGet supports more than bit torrent files, segmented downloading, and FTP recognition. It also has a Site Explorer feature that allows you to download multiple files from the same site in a Windows Explorer-style interface. Utilizing the instantly recognizable table, the Site Explorer cuts a lot of time out of navigating graphics-heavy sites, and it recognizes most file types.
Be warned, though: some malware detection programs might identify the Internet Explorer plug-in as spyware, although we didn't encounter any problems with it. Other than this hitch, FlashGet is good to be got.

Version: FlashGet 1.8.0.1
Pros: Suports multiple servers, excellent at: trawling through webpages and downloading certain file types, has an excellent facility for exploring websites in a 'windows explorer' interface.
Generally an excellent program, the best of it's kind which I have come across.
Cons: it installs an Internet Explorer BHO which some people may object to. Other than that it's excellent

Version: FlashGet 1.8.0.1
Pros: I updated to easily download links and multiple pics in any site, but i like to download torrents, without notice this took my torrent and i got even 100kb/s..the thing is i got a lot of problems with emule and azureus, because of ports,NAt and things i never understood how to set it fine. Well, i wait 2 hours instead of 2 days in torrents and i didn`t get it for that!!,seems this give no problems with ports, the usual use is fine too.
Cons: Well, i was afraid when i saw it in the toolbar, i don`t like anything there, i don`t chose that i guess when installation dialog appeared
