The original version of Quake III Arena was designed to overthrow its primary rival in the world of multiplayer first-person shooters, Unreal Tournament. It failed. Now, with this final version of Quake III Arena, gamers can choose between two equal competitors, each with drawbacks and advantages. One of Quake III Arena's strengths is its single-player mode, in which the player fights with bots. The bots' AI is rather high, and they behave differently depending on their weapons, the map, and your skills and tactics. As for multiplayer Deathmatch, we have no criticisms at all. We were impressed with the graphics, and the sound adds another dimension of realism. The game's major drawback is its lack of weapons priority. Players simply switch to whatever weapons they step upon. Also, though Quake III Arena will definitely appeal to fans of first-person shooters, the lack of a story and the simple gameplay will eventually become dull to many players.Publisher's description
From id Software :This is the latest and distributable demo release of Quake III Arena. You're plunged into a brutal, realistic 3D environment. You'll need to rely on your agility, instincts, and a lot of weapons to beat your opponents. Connect with players via LAN or Internet servers. Keep in mind, this is a demo version and not the full game.

Version: Final Quake III Arena demo
Pros: excellent graphics. back in 1999, it was the best graphical shotter game. it still many peoples favorite. the game can run smoothly even on a 5-year old cheap computer. its kind of run and gun shooter game, which you just go around the terrain and blast your enemies to piece with your gun. with several types of weapon to choose from and 4 maps, great single player but also can be played online with real human players. it can be somewhat addicting and exicting for a serious gamer.
Cons: the gore is one obvious downside since its not good for the youth but some adults find it amusing and enhancing the game. and the shooting can get pretty grown-out if you played it too much at a time. not to mention it has no storyline you just get on and play and that's all.
