Rich in Web content, short on cash? This free, open-source FTP application is handy if you're looking for a solid tool to handle FTP transfers and don't want to part with your bucks.
The straightforward interface offers translations in most of the world's major languages. Caching directories speeds up browsing FTP sites, and multiple secure connection options ensure that you can move files around without concern. Bookmarking comes in two flavors: the Site Manager for all your major FTP locations, and QuickConnect for fast switching on the fly.
The program lets you download or upload multiple files at once from and to several servers. If your bandwidth is somewhat limited, you'll appreciate a feature that lets you automatically adjust transfer speeds based on the time of day or date. FileZilla also lets you browse FTP sites mid-transfer. The lack of a task scheduler is compensated for, in our eyes, by a powerful filter so you only see the files you need.
FileZilla is no monster, either, eating up a manageable 50 MB in memory. Clearly, this is one of the best FTP tools around.

"Fast and Full Featured"

Great program for uploading or downloading files and for comparing their modification dates and file size. Excellent for keeping a web page up to date.
Cons
This program will highlight files which are newer on one site than on the other. Unfortunately, you have to look through all the files to find those which are highlighted. Doesn't help if you're trying to compare 5,000 files as I am.

works MUCH better than trying to individually upload files to a website. Especially good for people used to using FrontPage - similar upload interface.
Cons
could be a little more user-friendly for the tech-ignorant, more help with error messages would also be nice. but these are very minor complaints.
Summary
I had been really struggling with the unfeasibility of upload several hundred photos and pages for my business' new site, and the difficulty of trying to take small chunks of the site and zip them then upload them. This really solved the problem and was very quick and easy.

I am a "beginner" and use it to make changes and updates to my website. It's easy to do that and super fast!

As a beginner, there are so many functions in the menus, I have no idea what to do with all that! It's a little too "technical" for a beginner, but I have figured out some of it, mostly thru trial and error.
Summary
Overall, I give it 4 stars because it IS an EXCELLENT product!
The only reason I can't really say it's spectacular (with 5 stars) is that I don't understand how to use most of the features.
A little more "help" would be helpful, without so many technical terms for newbies like me.
For folks like me, just wanting to make changes to a personal site, it's more "feature-rich" than what I probably need... and I don't understand all the words in the "help" menus...
But it's free and works faster and better than any other I've tried!
Once I figured out how to use it, I can make site changes in seconds: LOVE IT for that!
I would definitely recommend it. -

It wasn't hard to set up and get going.

I still use LeechFTP and I'll probably continue using it. Maybe it's my reluctance to change, but with LeechFTP it's easier to create new connections, etc.
