This magical, 3D fantasy screensaver features eight beautiful fairies flying around an old oak tree. Discovering Excalibur, the sword in the stone, they take up residence nearby in an old oak tree, using it as their playground while they celebrate the magic of King Arthur's sword. Watch them as they dance to The Nutcracker Suite, featuring selections like "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies," or play your own musical selection. The fairies will captivate you as they perform graceful dives, flips, rolls, and daring plunges from high above.

This whimsical screensaver makes a pretty nice way to decorate your desktop, thanks in part to its large set of features. Once you fire up Fairies3D, you'll see a number of small, brightly colored, winged fairies flying across your PC screen, with a half moon shining in the background. The graphical treatment seems pleasant enough, although, since the fairies are quite tiny, they lack exquisite detail. The application's default music is, appropriately enough, the Nutcracker Suite theme, but you can add your own WAV files if you want to mix it up. We were especially impressed with this screensaver's amount of available customization options. For instance, you can adjust the level of fog, the speed of the fairies, and the amount of ambient light. You also can disable effects such as the trails the fairies leave in the sky, and you can remove the prominent sword from the scene altogether. Children and other lovers of fairy tales will probably find this application entertaining.
