If you've ever tried to save several emails to a file from Apple's Mail, you know it doesn't work - Only the first selected email gets saved. Export Messages is an AppleScript that will save multiple emails to text files in a folder you specify. The files are named with the email subject, so watch for emails with duplicate subject lines (usual suspect is ones that are a thread and start with "Re:"). This script can be run from the script menu in Mail (Panther) or the system-wide script menu (Tiger). Includes Speak Mailbox & Subject, a script that allows you to create a mail rule that tells you about new mail when it comes in.

What's new in this version:

  • You can now select where the exported messages are saved.
  • Now works with both Mail 1.3 (Panther) and 2.0 (Tiger).
  • Read Me file now has installation instructions for both Panther and Tiger
