From ElectricSheep.org :Electric Sheep is a free, open source screen saver run by thousands of people all over the world. It can be installed on any ordinary PC or Mac. When these computers "sleep", the screen saver comes on and the computers communicate with each other by the internet to share the work of creating morphing abstract animations known as "sheep". The result is a collective "android dream", an homage to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
Anyone watching one of these computers may vote for their favorite animations using the keyboard. The more popular sheep live longer and reproduce according to a genetic algorithm with mutation and cross-over. Hence the flock evolves to please its global audience. You can also design your own sheep and submit them to the gene pool.

Pros: .... about the stupid text reminder telling you to update to version 2.6.6... even if you just downloaded it. This is a really colourfull, full of moving lines, circles etc etc screensaver. If it wasÃ?Â??nt for the stupid text message I would have given it a five
Cons: Stupid flashing text message in the upper left corner that just goes on and on and..

Cons: I didn't like the fact that in order to run it, it tried to put my computer on line. I don't like my computer being on the internet when I am not around to control things...just because of the vunerability of stuff attacking a computer. I uninstalled it immediately.

"A Beautiful and Constantly Updating Screensaver"
Pros: Beautiful and almost organic and very fluid effects that engulf your monitor in visual splendor. I am even thinking of buying their DVD of the effects. I never experienced a "need to update" warning, which could be annoying.
Cons: DO need to be online to get updates, but most people already are online 24/7 so shouldn't be a concern to most.
