CNET Editors' review
Easily change most of your drive icons with this simple freeware.
Drive Icon Changer's simple interface needs little explanation, but our testers still had a problem with it. A key feature previews your intended icon, but it failed to perform for us. That problem aside, changing a drive icon takes just a click or two. The program works with standard ICO files as well as DLL files that include icons. There is the odd hoop to jump through with the DLL files, but nothing difficult to master. Removing a custom icon is a mere matter of entering the drive letter and pressing Remove. Some testers also found that Drive Icon Changer failed to change icons for certain drives. We could find neither rhyme nor reason for that issue.
Problems aside, this freeware is useful for any user who likes visual clues to differentiate drives.

"Does What it Claims"
Version: Drive Icon Changer 1.0.5
Pros
I liked that it worked.
Cons
However, I found another program, "My Drive Icon," which doesn't even require installation. It just works from a single executable file. Much easier than this one.
Summary
Use this if you want. It works. But if you want a portable application, or one that doesn't require installation, use My Drive Icon.

"A very nice utility with only one problem"
Version: Drive Icon Changer 1.0.5
Pros
It works as mentioned, but the only problem is that the icons created for removable drives are only shown on your computer NOT on the removable drive, which makes this action useless if you plan to use the drive "or flash stick" with another computer or a notebook.
Generally, it works fine and runs smoothly with Windows Vista Ultimate 64Bit too.

"Changes your Drives Icons in Computer"
Version: Drive Icon Changer 1.0.5
Pros
Yes!! It works on VISTA 64-bit, probally 32-bit as well. Quick & easy interface. Beginners will have no problems. Just point the location you have the icon in you want and type in which drive letter to change to that icon. Leave dll # to 0 though. You can also remove a icon from a selected drive letter & Vista will automatically put default icon back.
Cons
Only changes Drive icons. But hey, it works in VISTA.
