This program lets you take a virual trip to the musically rich city of Memphis, although its cheesy MIDI music and somewhat invasive installation might make some users sing the blues. Even though Downtown Memphis Blues Screensaver only lets you see eight photos before registering, they are both high quality and diverse, ranging from shots of the city's famous blues clubs to views of the mighty Mississippi River. Although the application attempts to play up the blues-music theme with some primitive MIDI tunes, they mostly just grated on our nerves. You can turn the music off or add your own soundtrack, but if you opt for the latter, you can unfortunately only add other MIDI songs. Otherwise, the program boasts a decent feature set, letting you determine the image interval, apply a number of transition effects, and remove shots you don't want. On the downside, we weren't impressed to find that the program installed extra shortcuts on our desktop without our permission. Although it has some problems, this adware-free screensaver makes a fairly nice way to quickly tour Memphis.

The application includes 20 full-screen [1024x768] photos and four songs. You can enable/disable individual picture display via image previews, stretch images to full screen, position images randomly, enable/disable specific transition effects, and use your own MIDI songs.
