This download manager brings much more to the table than fast file transfers, but it definitely delivers those, too. Upon installation, Download Accelerator Plus asks for your e-mail address in hopes of sending you special offers, but you don't actually need to submit any information. Although the program is free, the trade-off is the "information panel" that displays software advertisements. Luckily, it's easy to get used to. Nevertheless, the tabbed main window is straightforward. DAP also installs a handy toolbar in Internet Explorer and integrates with Firefox and other alternate browsers. Increased download speeds are the program's bread and butter, speeding up downloads by almost 200 percent in most cases. Besides splitting files into smaller pieces, it automatically seeks faster mirrors. It also can get a file simultaneously from several sites, which is useful if a particular site limits the download speed.
Other useful tools include the ability to resume interrupted downloads, log on to protected sites, and schedule downloads at low traffic times for faster downloading. We appreciate the extra tools for organizing media and finding games, as well as the basic FTP client. We also found an interesting feature in the pay version that allows you to resume all downloads, whether a server supports it or not. All things considered, this feature-rich program will prove valuable for most avid downloaders.

"THE BEST DOWNLOAD MANAGER IN THE PLANET!!!"
Pros: This program is absolutly FREA*ING awesome!!
Grabs video files from metacafe and Pornotube, youporn, redtube, and anysite that host FLV files!
Simply add the .flv extention in DAP options and this jewel will actually download it from their website.
what more can you ask for??? And downloads everything at rocket speed. A must download!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: Absolutly NO CONS OF ANY KIND! EXCEPT FOR ADS ON THE SOFTWARE.

Pros: Truth be told, I used to think it was great until I ran into "Internet Download Manager". Fact is, there is no better, faster, safer download manager then "Internet Download Manager". It has a full version 30 day trial. I'd like to see what folks had to say about this program after using "IDM" for a month.
Cons: Add supported. Good if you have to use free programs but far from the best.

Pros: You buy Premium, it gives the same speed as normal download. For some reasons if you have to keep formatting your drive they don't activate since they get money from adverstizers . Their claims of speeds upto 400 times are false. High time they got a life for themselves. The free version gives more speed [extra 2-5 Kb/s] than the paid version. I'm gonna block those ads with Outpost firewall.
Cons: False claims that their speed is 400 times than that of the normal. When Google's web accelerator failed what are they?
