We had mixed but generally positive feelings about this download accelerator. The good news is that Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition accelerates downloads, supports multiple browsers, and picks up broken transfers without a hitch. The bad news is it has a mediocre feature set, even for a freeware program. Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition integrates with all popular browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Opera, so you only have to click a link to start a transfer. Alternately, you can drag a link to Download Manager's tiny "basket," which floats on top of your other windows. Download Accelerator automatically sorts incoming files into folders by type. It can send cookies if necessary, but it can't handle password-protected sites. It can't schedule downloads, either, but it can shut down your computer after finishing a transfer. The clear, good-looking interface was the deciding factor. Despite slight reservations, we recommend Download Accelerator Manager Free Edition to avid downloaders on a budget.Publisher's description
From Tensons :Download Accelerator Manager (DAM) is a tool for resuming and managing Internet downloads. With the resume capability of DAM, it will recover broken downloads due to unexpected events or errors, such as lost connections, power outages, or network problems. DAM can get files from protected sites and support Web cookies, proxy, HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols, and redirects. A wealth of other features include connection, cookie, and free-space management and automatic shutdown. Plus, it integrates with Microsoft Internet Explorer, MSN Explorer, Avant Browser, Maxthon (MyIE2), Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, and other browsers, to handle downloads. DAM is 100% free in spyware, adware, virus, and malware.
Version 2.1 adds remember-last-folder-used option, enables filename changes, improves download-startup experience and user interface.

Pros: This is a nice little progamme with ease of use and a simple effective interface.
Cons: I was looking for a download accelerator that actually made for faster downloading. This one is not it. It used to take me about 20 mins. to download a 4.00 m.b. file (using 56k modem on dial up), with this programme installed and configured it took around (you guessed it) 20 mins. Guess I'll keep looking !!

Pros: I Dont know.
Cons: It is much bigger than 1.23 MB. First you download 1.23 MB and than you download another MB and then 23 MB...I dont know where it ends.

"The product demonstrates a genuine effort. It verifies a superb task."
Pros: The most important feature about the product is that it is quite helpful as regards the time it saves as a result of the accelerating feature.
Cons: At present Ihave no negative comment to indicate.
