From NeoModus :Direct Connect allows users to share multiple directories from their local and mapped disks with other users over a TCP/IP network. All users' shared files are available to all other users; no passwords or hassles are required. Direct Connect provides integrated searching, graphical navigation of files, and public and private chatting. These files are easily viewed through a familiar, organized Windows-Explorer interface. To conveniently access the plethora of files, advanced searching capabilities and filters are provided. All of these features are integrated into Direct Connect's unique communal file-sharing system.

Version: Direct Connect 2.20
Cons: This program is supposed to be hassle free and maybe the software is hassle free but the hubs are pitiful. I only found 2 hubs that remotely interested me and upon entering the hubs i was bombarded by about 50 strict rules which would end up getting me kicked or banned! I think breathing was against one rule. Some people must lead very little sad lives in the real world and when they get some authority on the net and they go on a sad little virtual power trip. Even when i was connected to this hub i found sweet FA i wanted. SOULSEEK is VASTLY superior and most of all, truly hassle free.

"not bad at first but outdated"
Pros: This was a pretty good program for finding rare files, but now I can find more stuff through BitTorrent and file hosting sites.
Cons: The main problem with this is that you can only download a file from one peer. So you can't get faster speeds if more people have the same file. Also, if the person leaves mid-download, you'll never be able to finish it unless you're both on at the same time again.

Pros: Good for finding rare & hard-to-find files.
Cons: Too Cliquish.. You have to have a MINIMUM of 100 gigs of shared files on some portals.. I have 8 gigs of QUALITY files.. but because I don't keep JUNK on my hard drive to inflate my stats, I cannot get into a lot of portals. TOO MANY RULES!!!
