Digsby will easily be the instant messaging freeware of choice for the super social set. In addition to supporting the major IM networks--Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber--Digsby also pulls in Web mail feeds, as well as access to MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. Updating Twitter is a breeze from the application's main interface, though users wishing to do anything more than read Facebook and MySpace news feeds will be redirected to their online accounts.
Users can initiate text, video, and audio chat from the conversation window, and transfer files, send SMS, and compose e-mail. The notification pop-ups for every activity can get distracting, though a deep preference options control nearly every aspect of the display, including a wide variety of skins. Digsby is off to a strong start, but there's room for improvement because of ongoing stability concerns. Still, the question is if the other multiprotocol IM apps will catch up or offer something equally new and exciting.

Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros: All the features.
I got this so I can get rid of Windows Live Messenger, use AIM, and use the Facebook Chat function, since that wouldn't work in my Opera Browser, and don't know why. But hey, this is very good!
Cons: The reasons why I'm not giving this a 5:
1)Heavy on system sources
2)Took a while to load up
3)Pop-ups could be annoying (although that can be controlled in the preferences)
4)Minor instability
But hey, better than Pidgin in terms of features!

Version: Digsby build 15142
"The greatest of all instant message clients!"
Pros: As digsby is in beta, more features will probably be released in the future. But here goes...Digsby supports all the chat networks, email, facebook, myspace, and twitter. You can embed digsby widgets into your facebook or myspace so people can talk to you if you are online. You can use different message styles, and if you know how too, different emoticon themes. It works with most adium themes too. File transfer works great! It also uses webcam/audio chat!
Cons: I haven't tried direct connect, but i'm assuming it works good. It does not support chat rooms. But hopefully that will be a feature later. It uses a lot of RAM. I suggest normally 1 gig if you are going to use this. It can use up to 300 mb of RAM. It is still a little buggy also! But all in all, a great im client!

Version: Digsby build 15142
"When there's a lot to manage, this can definitely help"
Pros: I was able to setup all of my accounts in no time. The variety of services that it can log into is great. The interface isn't to shabby either.
Cons: There were only a few minor things that I think could be changed.
- In an IM, only one font decoration (underline, bold, italics) can be used because it changes the entire message that you're currently typing.
- I have a few connection problems from time to time (but that may not be the program).

Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros: Has a lot of customizations that you wish were in your other messengers. Will take over if Trillian astra isn't released soo or pidgin doesn't make some major advances.
Cons: none so far, they have fixed memory issues in newer releases.
