CNET Editors' review
Digsby will easily be the instant messaging freeware of choice for the super social set. In addition to supporting the major IM networks--Yahoo, MSN, AIM, ICQ, Google Talk, and Jabber--Digsby also pulls in Web mail feeds, as well as access to MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. Updating Twitter is a breeze from the application's main interface, though users wishing to do anything more than read Facebook and MySpace news feeds will be redirected to their online accounts.
Users can initiate text, video, and audio chat from the conversation window, and transfer files, send SMS, and compose e-mail. The notification pop-ups for every activity can get distracting, though a deep preference options control nearly every aspect of the display, including a wide variety of skins. Digsby is off to a strong start, but there's room for improvement because of ongoing stability concerns. Still, the question is if the other multiprotocol IM apps will catch up or offer something equally new and exciting.

"very good product"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
I like the ballons for E-Mail
Cons
Seems to slow down my system a bit.... Not enough to stop using it.
Summary
I would recommend it to people I know.
-
"Smooth transfer, easy to use interface, nice themes."
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
Works well and keeps all of my contacts and social networks in one place. User-friendly options; easy to customize. I haven't encounter any glitches so far (been using it for one week now). Seems to work much better for me than Trillian did.
Cons
No cons so far.

"Not that good and security risk"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
The basic is done very nice. And it is a good all in one IM. It has good functions and supports audio and video chat.
Cons
1. Memory. It takes much to much memory.
2. Passwords are stored on their server. If u want to recover your password. U first enter your new password, Second u enter each password of every account u using. And that on a non encrypted site.Summary
More cons:
3. Log files. Everything is logged and i cant customize the way the storage/ delete of the log file is handled. e.g time/size, location etc
4. Bad theme. To bulky, take too much space in the IM window. There need to be a simple theme. With individual color customiztion
Summary
The basic is good. And it has good functions. With only the memory leak and bad themes it would get a 3-4 stars rating. But with the bad security policy, and the need to store my password on there server it only get 2. Thinking about 1 actually. -
"Very customizable and an all-in-one"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
Easy to setup and change settings. When I changed my password for Gmail, it just took two clicks to change it with Digsby. This makes it so much easier for me to keep up with all my chatting without having 8 Firefox tabs open. I LOVE IT!!!
Cons
For some reason, AIM pops up with a window telling me that I'm logged in in multiple locations and makes me press '1' to clear up the problem. It's not that big of a deal, and I use Facebook chat more anyways. But it's still annoying till I find solu

"Will take over soon."
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
Has a lot of customizations that you wish were in your other messengers. Will take over if Trillian astra isn't released soo or pidgin doesn't make some major advances.
Cons
none so far, they have fixed memory issues in newer releases.

"Best communications tool on the web"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
Social networking, chat, and email all in one
Precise control over notifications, display, and behavior
Ability to create web widgits so anyone on a page with an embeded widgit can chat with you.Cons
Doesn't do the talking FOR me.
Summary
This program is more useful than outlook. When people want to talk to you, this one program will make sure they can. Log into several different chat clients, monitor your facebook, myspace, and twitter accounts, as well as all your email accounts.
You can create custom widgits which are little chat apps that you can easily embed into any web page. As long as you're online, anyone on that page can chat live with you without having to install any chat protocol. That's handy if you are providing live support for something or if you are very connected and need to be reachable.
Run this on a PDA or other mobile device and as long as you're online, you are 100% reachable -
"Very Good!"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
All the features.
I got this so I can get rid of Windows Live Messenger, use AIM, and use the Facebook Chat function, since that wouldn't work in my Opera Browser, and don't know why. But hey, this is very good!
Cons
The reasons why I'm not giving this a 5:
1)Heavy on system sources
2)Took a while to load up
3)Pop-ups could be annoying (although that can be controlled in the preferences)
4)Minor instability
But hey, better than Pidgin in terms of features!
-
"Not bad!"
Version: Digsby build 15142
Pros
So far, the most advanced social network that has launched is Toober.com. They do it better I think than any of these because they reward their members (I assume by using ad dollars). But Digsby is ok too.
Cons
This software is not a complex as some others.
-
