"Good, but..."

Obviously it provides the current weather conditions and warnings and doe that just fine.
Cons
Always comes up maximized and has a lot of trouble with the weak wireless signal that I have. I frequently get error messages and hang ups from this software when my signal strength drops off during boot up. After I get the laptop up and running the software seems ok after that.
Summary
My Norton's hasn't detected any kind of virus or malware activity. I keep it and Windows updated religiously.

Supposed to be user friendly and is not! Could not set it so it only shows on the taskbar when starting computer.
Summary
Un installing was a long process and had to do several things. Including the last thing, to use CCleaner to clean out the files left over. Because of Windows popup for weather channel APP needs to close after un installing it. Too much trouble to get it out of my computer!
I recommend using CCleaner to scan for registry issues. You can remove the bad files using this. Worked great for me!

I don't recommend anyone download this program. I have good internet security and I tried downloading this and it told me it was unsafe. My protection wouldn't let me download it so that's good. I also downloaded something else from this site and got a bad virus and I had trouble removing it. I use to like this side, but seems like alot of the software now are virus infected.

No se porque Cnet sigue insistiendo con el download de un programa que la instalacion nunca se puede terminar de completar.He tratado con win 7 x64 en inumerables ocaciones de instalar diferentes versiones a traves de descargas de Cnet. Tambien lo he echo directamente con el proveedor y utilizando otras fuentes de instalacion.El problema consiste en que aunque complete correctamente todas las desgargas y aparescan estas en los diferentes archivos de mi P/C.Nunca aparece el icono weather en mi escritorio.Estos downloads no se abren, ni se ejecutan.He tenido que borrar todos estos porque de nadan sirven tenerlos y no poderlos utilizarlos. Esto me esta pasando solamente con weather channel desktop, pero nunca con ningun programa que ustedes ofrescan hasta el momento.Gracias por toda la ayuda que Cnet ofrece, con toda la variedad de descargas de programas y por la magnifica y maravilloso servicio y actualizacion de scan automatizado que brindan para estar siempre al dia. easy to change to different cities, maps are clear. security is good, too

it tries to *load* something on the page under the map, but it never finishes. every time i go into the desktop weather program, it never finishes the *load* function.
Summary
overall, i like this program and it is somewhat better put together than some of the others. this lets me put in my home town, others need a larger city near my home. but i like this one because it lets me use my 'real' address.

I sometimes find it to be more accurate than Weather Bug. Its storm radar is very accurate. I watched a thunder storm that came over my house at the exactly as was being indicated by the radar.

SPAMWARE and SPYWARE ALERT After a week of having been installed, there is an "upgrade" with the ASK.com SpyWare toolbar. It is impossible to install the "upgrade" without the ASK.com toolbar being installed.
Summary
Do not install The Weather Channel unless you want to have the ASK.com toolbar. After about a week of installing The Weather Channel program I have been having an obnoxious popup for an "upgrade" that includes the ASK.com toolbar. As long as I keep The Weather Channel program, I cannot prevent or delete this popup for the "upgrade". After deleting the upgrade file, it is automatically reinstalled. Their is an option to uncheck a box asking to use ASK.com as my default search engine. Once the
'upgrade" is installed I would probably have to try to delete the ASK.com toolbar. I have not installed the upgrade. I just delete the entire program. Then I download it again until the fake "upgrade" install ASK.com toolbar popup appears. Then I delete and download it again. The quotes around "upgrade" are used to indicate that it is not actually an upgrade. It is just trying to force me to install the ASK.com toolbar. Many toolbars are actually forms of tracking SpyWare. So beware!
