Publisher's description
From codefromthe70s.org :Desktop Earth is a wallpaper generator for Windows. It runs whenever you're logged on and updates your wallpaper with an accurate representation of the Earth as it would be seen from space at that precise moment.
Images are created from high-resolution textures (2560x1280) so it's perfect for that QSXGA display - but they work on anything, even on SVGA. There is an image for every month to accurately depict snow and foliage changes, and the night view is simply stunning.

Version: Desktop Earth 2
"Beautiful desktop background!"
Pros: Fast download, easy install, easy to disable if you don't want to use, great pictures, decent customization, and free!

Version: Desktop Earth 2
Pros: This is much better than EarthDesk, has more features, and the images are really cool. You can have the images updated every minute at the least, and cloud data is updated at least every 3 hours. You can change update times from a small drop down list.
Cons: Nothing. A tip is to remember to use the selection to stretch the image because otherwise its a small pic in the corner. When you stretch the image, the quality does NOT "go down"!

Version: Desktop Earth 2
Pros: Really nice wallpaper. It's really interesting to see where it's night and day, and the difinitive line that defines them on the globe.
Cons: It's not extremely cool... but it's good.

Version: Desktop Earth 2
Pros: Looks amazing. Lots of options to play around with. It's free! Try it out!
Cons: It's not actually a live satelite image. I don't care about this but some may...
Other than that, none!

Version: Desktop Earth 2
Pros: Able to specify what time zone, or continent you want to see
Cons: Once you have seen it, you've seen it, why see it again.
