This specialized application proves to be a whiz at counting the number of left and right mouse clicks and key presses, but it falls short in the extra feature department.
Desktop Counters' small, semi-transparent interface displays the number of mouse clicks and keyboard presses you make, as well as the calories you burn while performing these actions. The counters are accurate and quickly light up when they detect keyboard and mouse actions. Even if you minimize Desktop Counters to the system tray, it still continues to keep track of your actions.
You'll find options to check this application's latest version and reset counters, but features to store or export results would have made nice additions to the program. Desktop Counters has a pretty narrow scope, but considering its free price tag and speedy performance, anyone who needs this type of functionality will find this title worthwhile.

Cons: What the CNET Staff reviewer said + I would recommend a mouse distance measurement. That and this program would be a jewel - more than it is now.
