There are two kinds of computer users: Those who never change their wallpaper, and those who can't stand to look at the same desktop day in and day out. DeskSlide suits the second type by providing a tool that automatically changes the desktop wallpaper at custom intervals. Users can set the time between image shifts and change how the images are displayed. Although the program does not drain system resources, we found the interface to be somewhat inconvenient, requiring the main dialog box to be opened to change wallpaper quickly. We would have liked to see a few extra features commonly included in rival programs, such as a calendar display or the ability to overlay several images. On the whole, we saw little that would make this download stand out in a large field of similar freeware applications on the market.Publisher's description
From Deskslide.com :DeskSlide is a utility for automating the wallpaper change on your desktop. You can schedule the wallpaper to change at intervals of seconds, minutes, hours, days, and logon. In Task Scheduler mode, you can create complex schedules. Specify how your images are displayed - auto fit, full bleed, center, align, tile, random position, and stretch.
Rearrange the order of the slides and specify the direction - forward, backward or random. Easily change your wallpaper collection or share your data with other applications with the Import/Export functions. Version 2.1 build 2.1.0.12 includes unspecified updates.

Pros: I tried various wallpaper changer programs, but they didn't change on schedule and sometimes not at all. Don't know if that's because of the software or my Vista operating system, but this one works exactly as it says it will and it's easy to use. Good stuff!

Pros: easy to use
Cons: As I have a dual monitor system I would have liked the opportunity to have different backgrounds for each monitor

"Does what is says and that too in a simple manner"
Pros: Simple to use
Cons: Eats way too much RAM as compared to others (Webshots, for example). On my machine it was eating 12 MB whereas Webshots takes just 6 MB, eventhough Webshots packs in more bells and whistles.
Summary: Try out Webshots, It's better.

Summary: Been using it for years on XP, now using it on Vista. No problems, no complaints.
