From Deskslide.com :DeskSlide is a utility for automating the wallpaper change on your desktop. You can schedule the wallpaper to change at intervals of seconds, minutes, hours, days, when you log on, or use the Windows Task Scheduler to create complex schedules. Specify how your images are displayed - auto fit, full bleed, center, align, tile, random.
You can rearrange the order of the slides and specify the direction - forward, backward or random. Easily change your wallpaper collection or share your data with other applications with the Import/Export functions.

Pros: does exactly as it says, changes wallpapers whenever you choose, and you can also use task scheduler (the windows one i think) to make very specific changes if you are really that fussy... :P
Cons: takes up 9400Kb of memory when running...

Pros: This software does the job, doesn't cause any noticeable slow downs, and allows for adding complete folders.
Cons: There doesn't seem to be a random. I have a couple hundred pictures so I doesn't really matter anyways.
