Descent has been out for a while; in fact, the source code of the original has been released to the public, allowing developers to make changes to the 3D space shooter. This new application file for Descent helps you take advantage of 3Dfx graphics accelerator cards. In order to use this file, you must have a full version of the original Descent, as well as a 3Dfx card installed. This updated version features full support for VillageTronic's MacPicasso/Overdrive cards. New in this version are compiler optimizations for smoother battles and explosions, and its resolution switching will now only use safe modes.
