CNET Editors' review
This application claims to look up words directly from your desktop, but doesn't deliver on its promises. Definition Finder doesn't offer a dedicated interface for setting user preferences. To search for word meanings, simply press the Alt key and highlight the word. A small gray box will appear beside the highlighted word and is supposed to display the definition. In testing, however, the status bar never got past "Finding" and the program abruptly closed before the definition was displayed. Definition Finder also offers a small text field, located just above your PC clock, used for searching word definitions at refpedia.com. Just input the word and click Find, and the program opens the site and shows definitions from various Internet sources. This simple freeware program is only 50 percent successful, but if you only want a quick way to look up words on the Internet, that's the part that works.Publisher's Description
From Streamtofile:
Definition Finder allows you to search for any word on your screen by just pressing the Alt key and highlighting the word. The program doesn't go to any Web site to show you the definition, rather the definition if displayed instantly next to the highlighted word. You also have the option to type or paste a word in a convenient window at the bottom of your screen to find its definition.
