"A waste of money"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Pros
I didn't like anything about this software as it failed to match its claims.
Cons
I disliked everything about this software. It failed to provide me with the information I was looking for, despite claiming it could. The developer failed to even have the courtesy to reply to an initial query and to later requests for a refund. Buying this product was money down the drain.

"Ping time, packet loss and download speed from around the world on one page"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Pros
Brings key net performance information together on one page(check the quality of service provided by your ISP, how well the Internet is working, whether there is any advantage to be gained from tweaking your RWIN setting).
I found the reported speeds to be accurate and the multi-continent destination testing very useful.
You can choose graphical or text display formats.
With the paid version you can save the statistics, export it into spread sheets etc.
My relatively small ISP was listed.

"Easy and Accurate"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
Compares to other online speed tests. This is more exhaustive and convenient. Would definitely recommend.

"Could select test options, before program crashed"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
Install no probs, but unable to select customize test options before the program crashed. Looks like program is only suited to common ADSL providers.

"Like it"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
This test works quite well - it does a lot of different tests and the results are very easy to understand. The advanced features are pretty useful too! I can send a full report containing lots of diagnostics to my ISP in a matter of seconds, and the HTML export feature means that I can upload the results to my web site archive so my ISP can see all of my results.

"Robby Rob..."
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
My ISP isn't on the list but the test works for me. I just selected 'custom connection settings' and entered the details.
All in all a good piece of software. -
"DOA"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
If your ISP is not on the very short list of those provided, program will not run.
Program initially allows "other" to be entered as ISP, but subsquently will not run without an ISP name entered. Your ISP isn't on the list? You're out of luck. -
"Easy to use and works well"
Version: Dan Elwell's Broadband Speed Test 3.0
Summary
This is a brilliant program. It's more reliable than internet-based speed tests because it works from your computer, not a script on a website. It's very accurate and easy to use. The results at the end are easy to understand: Green = Good, Yellow = OK, Red = Bad.
