- "A good scrubbing"
- Version reviewed: CyberScrub Privacy Suite 5.1
The most remarkable feature is that you can fully control which files and Registry keys are erased, as well as add your own items for deletion. CyberScrub uses several erasing methods, including quick wiping, NAVSO, DoD, and Gutmann, so you can find the balance between speed and security. The program also lets you create your own methods. You can define the number of cleaning passes and, for each pass, any overwriting pattern (byte or text, fixed or random); this is a rare capability for this class of software.
What's more, it's possible to shuffle the order of passes and verify the data has really been deleted. Happily, CyberScrub now offers a built-in scheduler so you can run time-consuming tasks when you're away from your computer. You can lock the program with a password so nobody can occasionally damage your files beyond recovery. CyberScrub is designed for professional use.

Version: CyberScrub Privacy Suite 5.1
"Good product and first class backup service."
Pros: Particularly like the internet privacy tool and the high level of deletion
Cons: No dislikes

Version: CyberScrub Privacy Suite 5.1
"Best software with great personal customer service"
Pros: I've been using this software since I got my first computer in the year 2000. Relatively easy and self-explanatory interface and it cleans in areas that other digital security shredders I have used don't reach.
Cons: Can't think of anything I really don't like about the product other than I wish it would have an OUTLOOK deleted mail shredder that operates like SafeIT-Email shredder (which apparently went out of business.)
Summary: First, I do not work for Cyberscrub, that being said Cyberscrub is an Excellent product with the speed required to get the job done giving me some control and protection of my privacy. I wouldn't be without it to help secure my personal desks and i... read more >>

"Like the product but have with installing proceedure"
Pros: As a non-professional computer software person it seems to do the job for me.
Cons: Always have trouble installing the upgrades. This time it just would not activate at all. Clean installs - rubbish. I also hate the 'risk alert' Why can it not have a 'FIX ALL' option?
Summary: The installation feature has always been a problem, this version was no exception. I have spent 3 months approx trying to install latest version onto my XP O/S desktop, using 'support ticket' fom early on. No joy. Then they put me onto CyberScrub LL... read more >>

Version: CyberScrub Privacy Suite 5.1
"The best software of its kind"
Pros: Good interface. Full features. Supports Vista 64.
Cons: It requires restarting the computer to complete the operation, which is time consuming.
Summary: I have used Cyberscrub for five or six years. In that time it has worked very well. During all upgrades or when needing to reinstall - I recently went to Vista 64 - the support has been fast, courteous and efficient. Richly deserves the five stars.

Version: CyberScrub Privacy Suite 5.1
"Cyberscrub no longer honors paid lifetime subscriptions"
Pros: The product is very complete. It does the job better than any of it's competitors. The scheduling feature is especially usefull.
Cons: I supported the company early on by purchasing a lifetime subscription for free major upgrades. Recently they emailed that they would no longer honor this agreement. They claim it is a completely new product, but the name and features are unchanged.
Summary: I gave Cyberscrub great word-of-mouth for years and brought them business. I waited patiently for many months when the product would not work with Vista. Now I am repaid by them dishonoring their agreement with no apology or compensation. I can't do... read more >>
