This stopwatch application may be somewhat of a one-trick pony, but it does provide a couple of neat features for no cash. Cool Timer's easy-to-understand interface can be programmed to count down from any number of hours, minutes, and seconds you specify. Once the time is up, it will play a MP3, WAV, or MIDI file of your choice. This app's feature set is by no means gigantic, but we really liked the tool for customizing the color scheme of the timer's background, LCD, and buttons. The main window can also be resized to a larger view. Cool Timer's focus is certainly very narrow, but folks seeking an attractive, simple, and free stopwatch program will find it a suitable choice.Publisher's description
From Harmony Hollow Software :Simple, no-nonsense, handy timer utility with a cool, customizable interface. Can be used like an oven timer, alarm clock, or stopwatch. Plays wav, mp3, midi files, or any of several built-in sounds as an alarm. Can optionally display a custom, scrolling, LED-type text message when the alarm sounds to remind you why you set the timer initially. Use as an alarm clock to wake you up or remind you when it is a certain time of day.

Pros: The beauty is in its simplicity.
Cons: Not many options, but it's not intended to be a Swiss chronometer.
Summary: All I needed was something to monitor my kids' computer time, and Cool Timer provides just that.

Summary: I have had this timer on several computers over the years and I am never disappointed. They also do not put any ads onto you or try to insert some other program while you get this one. You cant go wrong get this program,

"Clean, Simple, FAST! Personalizing it makes it mine."
Pros: It does everything I want in a countdown timer. It lets me be in charge of how to set it up. I can use the up or down arrows in any of the fields, as well as typing directly into the fields. I like that I can personalize the "time's up" message.
Cons: I'm sure that there are other free timers that do more than this one. I just haven't bothered to check.

"Easy Use, Convenient, Useful"
Pros: Ease of use, very easy to set or reset. Can set it to display any message you want. Very reliable. You can adjust the colors to those you want. I especially like that you can minimize it to the tray, run the pointer over it and see time left.
Cons: Haven't found anything so far.
Summary: Love it. I'm using it to help me quit smoking. I set the timer for the space I want between cigarettes and forget it. By not thinking about it I don't crave one as often. It's easy to reset and keeps me from focusing on not having a cig.
