If your dull Windows system-tray clock has got you down, this utility is bound to help spice things up. True to its name, this program offers a number of skins that change the appearance of your system clock. The skins vary in style and color. For example, one turns the clock into Japanese characters, while another makes it look as if the date and time have been sketched into your system tray. Don't expect a bevy of additional features, but you will find a tool for syncing with atomic-time servers, and you do get the ability to select skins at random. Clearly, Clock Tray Skins isn't one of those must-have utilities, but it makes for a nice change of pace.Publisher's description

Version: Clock Tray Skins 2
"Extend Windows' System Tray Clock with Style!"
Pros: Windows has no masterful way of showing the date or seconds in the system tray clock. The best you can muster is to extend your taskbar to more than one row, but on a small screen this might not be acceptable, since to show the month/date, you have to triple the size of your taskbar. This application fixes that in a very pleasing way, and takes up very little space. Little wider than a couple extra system tray icons, it blends in handily, and with the array of skins it can suit any color scheme. An excellent solution to an old (and irritatingly persistent) problem.
Cons: No documentation on how to design your own skins in order to further condense the app! (Although with some masterful tweaking, it may be possible.)

"A simple but elegant and fun enhancement to boring clock!"
Pros: Great to have the date and day of week readily available with the time. Also fun to change the skin occasionally to vary the look.

Pros: Clock tray skins gives a lot of flexibility in its appearance for the time. I love having the date in the tray. The Windows XP integration compared to TClockEX is phenomenal. It actually looks like it belongs there.
Cons: I would like a little more flexibility in how the date is shown. And a mini calendar feature like TClockEX would be great.

Pros: I like the fact that the attributes (style, transparency, gradient) are easily configurable and the fact that the data display is also easy to configure with lots of options
Cons: I wish it could be made to fit closer to the size (footprint) of the standard tray clock. It's not much of a problem when I'm using a larg monitor, but when I'm using the screen on my laptop, it's somewhat of a tight fit.
