CNET Editors' review
This simple puzzle game might not look like much at first, but don't let the underwhelming interface turn you off. Though the graphics and sounds are low-budget at best, the intriguing gameplay offers plenty of fun challenges that become increasingly difficult. The unique gameplay, 40 free levels, and a campy philosophy ("unlock the secrets of the quantum universe") all contribute to a fun puzzle shareware game. The Chromates are tiny quantum particles that are divided into two colors, gold and silver. You employ the gold Chromates to ultimately move all the particles to their proper positions on the board. Gold Chromates can be simply moved or "shot," which transfers kinetic energy to whatever the Chromate strikes. Solving a puzzle in the optimum number of moves offers extra bonuses. Direction-changing corners, slides, and hills add to the challenge, and the full game offers a Quest mode that features pirates, elves, and monks from the land of Principia. The tutorial puzzles are embarrassingly simple but provide a comprehensive introduction to the game. The trial version of the game provides enough difficulty to challenge any would-be Einsteins out there.

"Fun puzzle game"
Version: Chromentum 1.1
Summary
I'm enjoying this game, and will purchase it. Also, I don't have any issues with it running slow on a 900mhz with win98.

"Nice"
Version: Chromentum 1.1
Summary
A prety good game. Requires use of logical reasoning and analytical skills. For all the nerds and above 160 IQ guys out there, this is the game. Could have used better graphics and sound though

"too slow - couldn't even get to the game"
Version: Chromentum 1.1
Summary
It was so slow - cursor movement, loading, etc. - that I never got to try the game. Reached my frustration limit trying to simply turn off the funeral dirge they call music!

"S-L-O-W"
Version: Chromentum 1.1
Summary
The whole game is EXTREMELY slow on my machine, not even the mouse cursor moves smoothly.
Maybe it depends from the hardware... but is a 1GHz Duron with 384 Mb of RAM not enough???
