Publisher's Description
From Pixture Studio:
CalculateSizeCM is a contextual menu plugin for Mac OS X. It let you calculate the total size of selected files/folders at the Finder. It's specially usuful if you want to know the total size of mutilple files and folders (for example, to see if they fit in a CD-R media or not). This is the OS X port of my Calculate Size CMM plugin.
What's new in this version:
- Now the size over GB is displayed as (x.xx GB) instead of using big MB number.
- Fixed a bug of displaying more than 11 digits of byte size, which occurs for items more than 100GB.
- Now all size display starts with KB, MB, GB size and followed by length byte size in parentheses
- If a single file or a single volume is selected from the Finder, size information are directly displayed to the context menu instead of 'Calculate Size...' menu command. This makes i... See all new features

"Great App, but no Intel version:"
Version: CalculateSizeCM 1.3
Pros
This little script adds a line to your contextual menu, when you right-click a folder, it calculates the total size of the folder and counts how many items are in it. It even counts how many levels deep the folders go.
It's a very small app.Cons
There is no Intel version and only works on PPC macs.
The app locks up your finder and you cannot do anything while it is calculating.Summary
I love it and wish the developers would mac an Intel version. :)

This company's products are just awesome. Be sure to check their website for more of their CM plugins. Indeed, seldom an hour passes on my mac without using one of them. Just GREAT! -

"so nice and simple"

It's great to see such simple and useful utilities offered free of charge. This little thing is very nice in that it doesn't calculate the file size when you open the contextual menu, wasting resources and slowing things down. Instead it opens a little window and you can watch as it calculates everything very quickly. I only have one small gripe: when this window is open you can't do anything else in the finder. It would be nice if it opened a window like the Get Info window so you could compare two calculations without having to take a picture or whatnot. Other than that, bravo! -

I had always been annoyed at how the Finder doesn't tell you the real file size. This is a great little piece of freeware I wish I had known about before. -

Another gem from Mr. Itoh.
If VT's download link is still pointing to the previous version (1.2), as it is now, you can get the current one (and other neat stuff) from the developer's site:
