Publisher's Description
From Antibody Software:
Bulk Image Downloader automatically downloads and saves images and videos from thumbnailed web galleries, bypassing all annoying popups and adverts. It can also extract image information from regular text files (such as saved HTML pages or plain text files containing links) and web pages where image links are listed as plain text. Almost all popular image hosting sites are supported and it's built in image location technology can locate the full sized image in most web pages no matter what the layout or redirection methods used. Original image filenames are extracted where possible, but an option to generate sequential filenames is available for those image hosts that scramble the filenames. It integrates with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Opera via the right click context menu for even easier downloading. Download thumbnail gallery images interactively or send them to the Queue Manager and have them all downloaded automatically one gallery at a time. Images that fail to download within a batch are automatically saved to new "retry" batches that can easily be requeued for download. Use the BID Link Explorer to quickly extract multiple gallery links from gallery "index" pages (pages listing multiple galleries) and quickly queue them for download. Most popular image hosts are supported, including flickr, imagevenue, imagefap, imagereverb, imagebam, imageshack, and too many others too list here. BID also supports video downloading from selected flash based video sites like youtube, google video, dailymotion, metacafe.
What's new in this version: Version 4.35 updates support for imagetwist, youtube videos, imgsrc.ru and others.

"Solid workhorse for many years"
Version: Bulk Image Downloader 4.27
Pros
Easy to use without tweaks on most sites. For others there's an Advanced Configuration that let's you define what to download and what to ignore. It's also smart enough to handle multi-page galleries.
Cons
For some web pages the user has to define what to include and what to ignore by using "regular expressions" which are always tricky. A little more help in that area would be nice.
Summary
I've used this for years to download all sorts of galleries even from sites that seem intent on keeping the user from doing bulk downloads. It's solid and reliable.

"Works great!"
Version: Bulk Image Downloader 4.23.0.1
Pros
I was able to download a lot of pics from my SmugMug gallery / BID was responsive to my issue.
Cons
None that I can think of.
Summary
I bought BID over a month ago to download some pics from SmugMug. BID worked as indicated for my 1st gallery (135 pics), but not so for my 2nd gallery. I contacted BID with my problem and they responded within a day, indicating that a fix for my issue would be part of the next release (every week or so a new version is released). As soon as the next version was released, I updated my software and sure enough I was now able to download my 2nd gallery of pictures (100 pics). I would definitely recommend BID.

"One of the BEST programs ever."
Version: Bulk Image Downloader 4.22.0.1
Pros
Fast image downloading,
Updated with video downloading,
Easy to use.Cons
... None... ^.^ (.) To some, messing with the settings may be a con, I say, no, it takes but a few seconds.
Summary
I have used this program for a couple of years now and it is EPIC as hell, it does what it states and more. And ffor those who say that it doesnt work on some sites, they have a place on their website where you can list those sites. I used it and listed a few sites, next update, they fixed the issues. Even when the sites I used required membership. So they must have tested it somehow. Their customer service is fantastic as well, some of the nicest you can have, and they respond fast... even if I do not, ^.^ (.) Thanks to Dominic for her help and thanks for BiD for saving me a lot of time. +5

"BID = Blatantly Intrusive Disaster"
Version: Bulk Image Downloader 4.19.0.0
Pros
1--It worked on approx 30% of sites I tried for a very short period of time with a LOT of harassment & interruptions along the way.
2--Good business model for how NOT to treat people, run a business, or make $.Cons
-Immediately lies & tries to bully $ out of you, & continues to do so approx every 1 of 2 or 3 downloads thereafter.
-EXTREMELY interruptive & fails in every facet of use.
-Completely UNTRUSTWORTHY business. Do NOT trust, nor those who rave.Summary
In brief:
- Words to describe program: Misleading, dishonest, extremely harassing, extremely problematic, exasperating, slow, hit 'n' miss, interrupting, intrusive, manipulative. Fail!
- The program is meant to immediately convince you to pay up. If that doesn't work, you get an EXTREMELY problematic taste of what the program does & doesn't do, then you're reminded & encouraged over & over & over & over again to spare yourself the HASSLE of trying the trial version. With all the problems & interruptions, the 30-day trial period provides much less time to work with it. I experienced recurring problems in every facet of use that I can think of.
In more detail:
- First thing you see when you open your newly downloaded program is dishonesty. At the top of the page are credit card pictures & flashing red text saying your trial version is now expired & you need to pay with credit card now, though you JUST downloaded & tried the program for the first time.
- The first week I had an extreme amount of problems in every way, then some problems but fewer 2nd week. It couldn't download about 2/3 of the websites I tried. It wouldn't download full-sized images I found on a page. A handful of features are easy to figure out (like batch pic viewing size & downloading this or that amount), but most of the program isn't user friendly at all; most people would have to waste a lot of time figuring out what this & that means & does. It stops in the middle of your download maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the time & you have to restart.
- After 2 weeks, a countdown dialogue box pops up about every 3rd download with a 10 second countdown timer forcing you to read how limiting your trial version is & how you need to pay to not be harassed. In the 3rd week this box pops up nearly every other download, & the timer starts adding another second every day. By the end of 4 weeks it's popping up every other batch at best (sometimes worse) & counting down from about 20 + seconds. I used the down time to write this. The box sits on top of everything, forcing you to look & work around it, or wait. It says you can do no more than 2 simultaneous downloads & you can only download up to 100 pics per download (reminding you how restricted the program is but if you paid life would be pleasant). If the website's timer says it's time for the countdown box to pop up, it doesn't just pop up, it renders the remaining of the pics you're trying to download as 'errors', forcing you to shut it down & start over; other times it just won't let you upload a page (giving you "0" results) & you have to shut it down, put the URL into their Drop Box again, hit "cancel" to say you don't want to pay now, wait for the countdown timer agaaain, & then maybe get the pics (but often not all of them). See what a hassle it all is?...
- It's fairly obvious how to download one page at a time, but everything after that is much less obvious. I was able to obtain 100% of the pics on an accepted website page about 66% of the time, frequently not able to get 1 to 4, sometimes not able to get 10 (remember, you can only get 100 pics at a time with the trial version)(it has a strange nack to not download the last 1 or 2 pics in a batch). Whole pages failed to download about 1/4 of the time at a good website, getting worse in the 2nd half of the trial period when the countdown box would interrupt. *These estimated stats are in regards to using a good accepted website that wasn't experiencing problems at the time.
- There's no way I'd look past the dishonesty & miss treatment & pay for this; the hassle is not worth the money. I wouldn't trust anyone that says this program is remotely great or even good, & there's no way all these problems are only mine alone.
- If the MANY problems were worked out & the program was distributed by way of a serious business model it could be a hit. -
"Ive many years with it"

"Great all round fire and forget downloader"
Version: Bulk Image Downloader 4.13
Pros
Supports almost every image hosting site. Simply point to the image library or catalogue, select download destination, fire and forget.
Works with both thumbnails (will flollow the links to the full image) as well as full image gallaries.Cons
Sometimes misses image gallaries inside discussion forums.
Frequent updates to keep up with changing image host sites could be implemented better (e.g. break each host into small dll's and only update the affected dll's whenever a host changes)Summary
Great all rounder... I couldn't live without it.
