Publisher's description
From Magnus Brading Software :Bookmark Converter supports conversion of bookmark files in both directions between Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. If you switch between browsers, this will help you find all your favorite places on the Web again. Features include remote conversion for multiple users in large networks and command-line conversion, including an option called '-silent,' so the program runs invisibly in command-line mode. In version 2.9, the program is fully compatible with Netscape 6. A problem related to reserved filenames in DOS has been fixed.

Version: Bookmark Converter 2.9
Pros: I just downloaded and tried Bookmark Converter 3.2 Bata 2.----- It rocks.-----
Go the developers web site and get the latest version.-----
I have a bunch of old bookmarks in dozens of directories from Netscape Navigator 4.78. A while back I installed Mozilla and the bookmarks never made to move over. With This version of Bookmark Converter 3.2 I just moved the bookmarks to Internet Explorer 6.0.2800 on Windows 2000, Mozilla 1.7.13, FireFox 1.5.0.7, and Opera 9.02.-----
I checked out Bookmark Converter on Windows XP and it work fine on that OS as well.-----
The trick with the conversion is to find the location of your bookmark files. Basically I took the old bookmark file and converted the bookmarks into Windows favorites. Then I converted the favorites into bookmark files in the newer browses. As the location of the bookmark files will vary from operating system to operating system and from one version of a browser to another it is best to just search the whole drive for the file.-----
Under Netscape the file name is either bookmarks.htm for Netscape 1-4 or bookmarks.html for later versions of Netscape.-----
For Mozilla its bookmarks.html-----
For FireFox its bookmarks.html-----
For Opera its Opera6.adr-----
Note that for some browsers there may be more than one bookmark file and the files may be in different locations.----
As an aside the file finder in Windows XP is junk and is just about useless. You can download Babylon File manager from Download.com. Do a search for Babylon on Download.com. Once the program is open go to services, search.

Version: Bookmark Converter 2.9
Summary: The 3.0 verion and the 3.1 versions bot crash on XP. I can't use it to transfer from favorites to Mozilla.
It's odd that this level of bug can survive through ANY kind of update. -
Version: Bookmark Converter 2.9
"Great Utility! I've used it for 2 years."
Summary: The newer version works with IE, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera. This is a simple, stable utility. I had to obtain the newest version from the authors website.

Version: Bookmark Converter 2.9
Summary: This software worked as advertised. I was able to easily convert all of my Favorites in IE 6 (Windows XP) to Bookmarks in Mozilla 1.1.
The sofware is slightly tricky though. You have to go into setting and change the default bookmark ... read more >> - See all 12 user reviews Write review
