Version: Bookmark Base 3.0.0.4
"Fair, not bad if you only want portability"
Pros: Supports multiple browsers; import/export is quick & easy; decent search feature; easily checks & marks dead links; runs conveniently from usb drive. You can work directly from the usb without having to import (but if you have new favorites you will have to export)
Would love to have the option to manually add a link to the base without import/export. That would make it 100% portable.
Supports XBML
This is a work in progress and they may eventually have all the little things folks have requested. They do have a nice site, easy to navigate, and a forum. But, after leaving a couple of posts in the forum waited over a week and still no response.
Cons: DEAD LINKS -- even the best link checkers can't do it all. This will check the links and marks the ones it assumes dead. It cannot differentiate if a site is just temporarily down; not really a negative but something to keep an eye on. If you want to delete the dead links, you only have a choice to "delete all" you can't pick & choose. So either manually one by one, or all then potentially lose some.
DOES NOT SYNCHRONIZE! This will import/export but does not check if a link already exists or has changed. If you delete a link from your favorites, it doesn't delete from the base. Others have questioned the legality of the claims that it synchronizes but I'm wondering if it's a language barrier or their definition meaning something less in their country (Germany but they post everything in English.)
DOES NOT DELETE DUPLICATES. This part is tricky. It will remove a duplicate IF the "name" and the "url" are identical from the different browsers. If there is one letter off, the duplicate link remains. There is no way to sort the list of links to easily catch potential duplicates. So, manually look at each one and hope you catch it. You can change the properties of the link but then exporting to the browser will create another duplicate.
Overall, it's a good portable product but if you want more automation or real synchronization, you may be waiting a while. I'm going to think positive and hope my purchase will help them finish the development. It can become a great product.

Version: Bookmark Base 3.0.0.4
"Quite good but lacks some features"
Pros: Does what it claims. I'm not sure about previous review because my experience with Bookmark Base is OK, no serious troubles.
It is portable - the only one portable bookmark tool.
Cons: I would like to see partial import/export of bookmarks because now it only imports or exports ALL bookmarks in one time.

Version: Bookmark Base 3.0.0.4
Pros: It does not seem to be spyware
Cons: This product, despite its claims, DOES NOT filter out duplicate bookmarks. This is a problem when importing or exporting and has really made a mess of my bookmarks in two different browsers.
The website - much like the product - looks pretty but really is a pain to navigate around.
Service was also slow. This wouldn't be a big deal if anything else worked OK but . . .
This program is not work $20 - it's not even worth $1 in my opinion.
