This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet. After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites. Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.Publisher's description

Cons: Please give me a not helpful vote for this review. I have a $500 bet with Merlot_1 that I can reach 20,000 not helpful votesbefore he can. Your help would be appreciated as I can use the money.

"cant get it working, more complex than ever before for p2p"
Pros: free software, lists torrent search sites, free forum to ask for help
Cons: v 0.70 worked fine through my belkin router and zonealarm & alg.exe..microsofts firewall. after i install windows xpprosp2 i decided to get bitcomet 0.90 as you install it offers to include browser extension..but doesnt explian y u need these/what theyre for. then zonealarm asks do i want to allow upnp.exe whats this?? bitcomet needed to explain this before .when u have installed a popup window in bottom says " half open tcp connection limitation is too small click here to patch..then says xpsp2 has half open tcp connection linmitation which may cause problem for p2p programs.you can ajust the default settings if you know exactly what your doing ( well i dont and most downnload.com users wont ) it says a windows system file (tcpip.sys) needs to be modified..this may cause problems for your system disable the system protection file ? will be disabled temporarily during modification the original file will be renamed to tcpip.sys original . i clicked a detailed help link as this is baffling ( other p2p apps are much simpler. the link opened browser and said id now downloaded software called flashgot ( this really is out of order for bitcomet to download software without my permission to my pc without warning..i still dont know what this is for. i went to forums.bitcomet.com and joined and told them all this they . but main problem is that i can t get anything i already had incomplete downloads to continue..theres yellow circle at bottom of bitcomet saying your listening port is unreachable to public domain peers check firewall and nat router configuration. forums say use portforward.com i follow some instructions check im using bitcomets correct listening port.. 14476 then set up a static ip address., forums still couldnt fix my problems. so i got version 0.70 again now i cant download using this either!! bitcomet is one of the best uses of the internet ever invented but if i cant get it to work..and im pretty good with installing all software help me solve why i cant download anything with bitcomet 0.90

Pros: find's hard to download files that other competitors rarely have sources for.
Fast Speed!
Cons: what the other guy said, - most confusing p2p. Obviously foreigned desinged, the english is badly translated. Advertisements are greasy, interacting with software messes up your download (bad layout).
MAIN POINT: NOBODY WANTS IT ON THEIR SYSTEM SO THEY REDOWNLOAD IT IF THEY REALLY WANT A FILE, RESULTING IN IT'S POPULARITY IN DOWNLOADS!

"Works Great, But All The Ads Are SOFT/HARD PORN"
Pros: As far as a bittorrent goes, I thought this was a good program.
Cons: LOTS & LOTS of ads for porn. The ads will take you to some pretty nasty web sites, then those web site.
