This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet. After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites. Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.Publisher's description

Pros: the "snapshot" option is pretty cool. i'm not sure if it only works for video files though. the rest is pretty much the same.
Cons: i didn't like the ad that took up the right hand side of the window. i know that that's what you get for downloading a free program, but that's why i downloaded an older version that didn't have the ad.

Pros: i think its one of the best P2P apps. the download speed is average and i don't have any major connection problems.
another nice feature is that you can use it as download manager for ftp and http downloads - one program for all the downloads - nice!
whats important to me is the low mem and cpu usage. this is one of the reasons why i choose it.
Cons: it displays some ads and some messages could not be disabled.
the old version was better in this points.
tracking should be removed!!!

Pros: It works pretty well
Cons: some bittorrent trackers either have problems with bitcomet, or outright ban it, because of some of its default settings... I personally prefer to use uTorrent as it is very small as well as feature-rich...

Pros: BC can minimize to the tray. It has very good download speeds - depending on what you're downloading. It has some really useful tools and options for managing your downloads. It can also download from FTP and HTTP.
If there is a new version, you can instantly write the new one over the old one without losing your downloads.
Cons: Sometimes the program will crash. You are also forced to have a minimum of 3kb/s upload rate (although with the new version, you might be able to get around that). Something I don't like is the "Recommended Window" that appears by default on first run. The other pages and links that appear as "Summary" and "Snapshot" can get very annoying and cannot be disabled. There is a new Comment feature, which is useful, but I think they are better on the torrent sites themselves.

"The fastest bittorrent software!"
Pros: Stable and very high download kb/s!
Low cpu/mem usage
Cons: Many version freeze up quite often.
