This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet. After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites. Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.Publisher's description

BitComet supports simultaneous downloads, DHT networks (trackerless), a download queue, selected downloads in the Torrent package, fast-resume, disk caching, speed limits, auto port mapping, proxies, and IP filtering. Version 0.85 fixes a few bugs in the preview versions, and is able to search for HTTP/FTP resources to accelerate bittorrent download.

"clearly untested badly flawed wont work"
Pros: its free,it lists sites to search for files,
Cons: version 0.85 failed to install it stuck as it was unpacking itself..this has happened ever since they moved on from version 0.70 which i still use. this proves they dont test software before its released to download ( download should test it too)..to prove how quickly bitcomet keeps being revised ( therfore cant possibly be being properly tested that it works ok and wont cause problems with your pc ill list recent revisions ive heard of) 0.76 released 7.nov 06,0.79 released 29.nov 06, 0.80 rel 15 dec 06, 0.83 rel 5.2.07, now 0.85 released 20.3.07...all versions since version 0.7 work worse!!!!! its as if the music industry have planted a software engineer in bitcomet to deliberatly release junk software. the next time a new versions release ill try and get it but if it goes wrong ( and i cant even install it) im leaving bitcomet for good to find another bittorent client,for gods sake bitcomet test your software on at least 25 xp computers to bug hunt at present it seems you just write code and release it untested. also when it fails and you want us to send an error report allow us to choose which browser to use as my default browser isnt set up to send emails ok to you.

Pros: possibility to download only part of target
Cons: There are better torrent clients. There is annoying ad on main window that can not be turned off. It is downloading to c:\download folder, that very old fashioned.

Pros: Nuff said. the best.
Cons: I wish that they had some peer suggestion tool like Torrent Swapper has, or other mechanizm to view other users files (like FrostWire or the long dead Kazaa).
