This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet.
After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites.
Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.

Version 0.83 adds option in HTTP task properties dialog to enable P2P http download, adds options in preferences dialog to enable network connection status auto check, and enhances the RSS list display function.

"Very good Torrent Downloader"
Pros: Fairly easy to get into and can handle many downloads at the same time. Speeds are good depending on whether you can find good torrents to download. Doesn't stress the CPU either unless it's downloading at a high speed. Robust and integrates well with IE. No adware/spyware either which is a great plus for me.
Cons: Help files are non-existent but thankfully you can get by. Could do with a better way of automatically organizing the completed downloads and torrent files. What the hell is Cometzone all about!!! Some of the Torrent Web sites are either fairly poor, non existent or if you're lucky medioker (however you spell it) it's a shame there isn't an option to add your own Torrent search site shortcuts like for instance ISO Hunt

Pros: Excellent DHT function, intuitive interface, interesting and easy to set tweaks, great connectability, the possibility to view/listen to partially downloaded files, etc...
Cons: Many cons nowadays, sadly... program stalls, icon freezes in quick-launch area, own uploads/seeds don't show a ratio/amount uploaded, program sometimes simply refuses to open a new torrent, so that you have to first store the torrentfile on HD and then open it...
Ever since version 0.79, there have been major bugs... If you can find it, revert to version 0.70, the last really stable version...

"too many problems with download speed"
Pros: good question
Cons: u have to configure bitcomet like crazy to make it go at a NORMAL rate,which takes loads of time trying to figure out wats going on.the very unorganized forums and non existant links that are displayed in bitcomet dont help neither
