This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet. After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites. Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.Publisher's description
From BitComet :BitComet is a powerful, clean, fast, and easy-to-use BitTorrent client. It is P2P file-sharing freeware and one of the most popular P2P protocols designed for high-speed distribution. BitComet supports simultaneous downloads, DHT networks (trackerless), a download queue, selected downloads in the Torrent package, fast-resume, disk caching, speed limits, auto port mapping, proxies, and IP filtering.
Version 0.79 improves the task-delete confirm dialog, supports HTTP, SOCK4 and SOCK5 proxy, and fixes a crash when downloading files from certain FTP server.

Version: BitComet 0.79
Pros: - one of the best torrent P2Ps around
- I like the download scheduler and bandwidth usage control which is the reason why I installed v0.79 but then went back to the very stable v0.70 due to various problems
Unless you absolutely need the download scheduler, better stay with v0.70 (****) !!!
Cons: - v0.79 hangs far to often
- compared to v0.70, my average download rate dropped by more than 25%
- can't fully utilize my connection bandwidth anymore no matter how many torrents I download

Version: BitComet 0.79
Pros: Very nice and faster than utorrent for some reason. You can search from within the program and then initiate downloads. I recieved a 4GB file in about 16 hours compared to the 2 months it told me to wait on utorrent. If you use torrents alot then this is a must have.
Cons: Interface is confusing but once you get used to it, you will be king o' torrents

Version: BitComet 0.79
Pros: BitComet has always been my first choice,
Cons: but this newest version is buggy. It would only show one of the running torrents, and others would disappear from the GUI, even though still running. Use v 0.70 if you can find it, it is the last stable version and is GREAT

Version: BitComet 0.79
Pros: BitComet is one of the easiest peer 2 peer torrent download programs available. Compare the amount of people downloading it over the others and paople coming back to BitComet for new updates. Bit Comet stomps the others, because of the ease of use and all the added features, even includes a mp3 player so you can preview music you download. Nothing else I can say except if your looking for something easy to use, download it!

"Don't download anything before you visit w,w,w,CookieShare,c,o,m"
Pros: The site is called CookieShare, and you can use it to send attachments (word, excel, powerpoint, mp3, jpg, etc.) securely to anybody without file size constraints of email servers, which typically limit attachments to 1 MB or 2 MB. You can use Cookie Share to send files up to 50 MB in size, which is big enough for anything I have ever sent to a friend or colleague.
I love using Cookie Share for sending attachments, and prefer it over email, mostly because the site is secure. It uses 128-bit encryption technology to upload AND download files, whereas email (as we all know) is NOT secure. You don't have to register to use CookieShare, there's no software to download, and it's free (how cool is that). It's a lot like Google in its ease-of-use, and the site is commercial-free, which is very refreshing these days.
Cons: It's just a great site. Don't take chances downloading software with ads, spyware, or viruses.
