This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet. After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites. Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.Publisher's Description

Version 0.77 fixes a crash in the version 0.76, and is now able to manage the http downloads.

Does for the the most part what it says it does. Easy enough interface to use.
Cons
Wellll....it slows th internet to a crawl, not just on the computer it is installed on but it manages to screw up the router enough to slow the whole network. Very bad. It isn't like there is a lot of bandwidth running either, it doesn't matter, it just slows everything down. Doesn't seem to let you know who is uploading. It shows uploading on current file downloading but does not seem to show is existing torrents are accessed. Overall I would recommend another software.

good speeds, ability to download many files at once, music files come in the album bundles (better compared to P2P clients where u would have to download 1 file at a time). have not found any files to be infected with viruses/spyware/adware (hopefully it stays that way). does not use much CPU and memory.
Cons
browsing while downloading affects the speed of downloads. hard to find specific files that you want. not many torrents with many seeders (peers) and good health. 1st time users may find it hard to get started as very different to P2P.

None...but this is a legit release. The Bitcomet site is simply behind the times as it links here now.
Cons
Where do I start? Very poor hash checking-to the point you will not want to leave it unattended. Bug causes random occurances of it junking huge masses of data for apparently no reason. Has happened to plenty of people and in a controlled test of this client conducted by me. Still does not respect private flag 100% of the time. The developers have lied about the fix. Reports bad data to the tracker. Randomly sends junk data to peers. As a tracker admin, I HIGHLY recommend AVOIDING this client even if it's not banned at yours yet or you use public sites. Rubbish like this belongs in the bin. Not on your PC.

"Very easy to use"

The list of sites along the right sidebar provide a great search tool. The program is very easy to use and uses low CPU and RAM space. A very user friendly interface.
Cons
When first installed I was getting decent download speeds but after one or two downloads the speed dried up to 1/2kbs. Have had similar issues with other torrent downloaders.
There is no support for bitcomet as the official webpage is not working.
