This free P2P application lets you find and download files using a unique system. On the left side of the three-pane interface, you choose from a long list of Web pages that contain files you can download. Different sites offer different types of files, and the subject matter is usually apparent by the name. When you opt to download a file, a smaller file appears on your desktop, which you then open in BitComet.
After a bit of a wait, the application aggregates users that have your requested file and starts a swarm download that gradually grows in sources and speed. We like the enormous variety of files available for download, but aside from paging through categories, there are not many ways to search for specific files. Still, the addition of a preview function helps. The BitComet client offers chat capabilities, stats trackers, and the ability to bookmark your favorite sites.
Overall, we think BitComet and the BitTorrent system are a great alternative to most file-sharing apps, and the fact that this download is free sure doesn't hurt.

"It has a good interface but very slow downloading"
Pros: -Great, simple interface
-Gives a lot of information about the downloads
-Easy to download multiple torrents at once
-Takes up very little RAM
Cons: -VERY slow compared to azureus and BitTornado. BitComet got 10 kb/s while azureus and bittornado both got 130 kb/s connecting to the same peers and seeds and on the same port
-Does not have a download speed graph
-Has less options than Azureus

"its my favorite .. but lots of sites are banning the use of it"
Pros: this is definately my favorite bt program. its very fast and easy to use. very straight forward
Cons: lots of torrent sites are banning this client, because they say, "it doesnt follow the correct bt protocol" ... whatever that means... i really dont know. somebody told me it has to do with an older version having a client spoofing function ... anyways, now i usually just use the original bittorrent program, even though i hate it ... because i think certain sites have been banning my ip , because of the use of bitcomet. one site, even warns people not to use bitcomet (and a few others), but anyway, if this issue ever gets resolved, which i hope it does ... i'd like to see a better built in torrent search function

Cons: Get LIMEWIRE... FOR LIMEWIRE... YOU Don't NEED TO WORRY ABOUT HIGH ID OR LOW ID SITUATION!!! YOU JUST NEED THE LASTEST VERSION OF JAVA!

Pros: Compare to P2P software, this is the best software to use. It's light, use little processing power and memory. Got me downloading huge files in 1 day.
Cons: Hope there's more torrent websites...

"Easy, fast dowload speeds and nice GUI"
Pros: I have tried alot of bittorrent programs, but this is the easiest to use and I have never got as fast download with other programs. It also includes a tabbed browser.
Cons: The cons is that it doesn't have as many features as Azeurus. It would also be nice if u could skin it. I know in earlier versions that a new activity would start automatic after you choosed donwload location and clicked OK, it now starts in paused mode, which is annoying. But maybe its fixable.
