This screensaver takes you on a virtual tour of the Hawaiian islands, but it certainly could stand some improvements. As you might expect, the application's image library mainly focuses on Hawaii's natural scenery, with subject matter such as tropical fish, breaking waves, and volcanic craters. However, you will find a couple of skyline shots of what appears to be Honolulu, as well as one of the Pearl Harbor memorial. Unfortunately, the images don't really render Hawaii's aesthetic grandeur particularly well; some are too dark, and other lack detail. It also would be nice if the application provided informational captions and some sort of soundtrack. While you will find a nice library of transition effects, you can't set the delay between images or choose a random sequence. Also, some of the transitions are quite slow and may frustrate impatient users. Best of Hawaii 2 may be worth testing for the 30-day trial period and even might be worth buying since it's so cheap, but it's a strictly average choice in the long run.
In this screensaver, a follow-up to the popular Best of Hawaii screensaver, you'll see twenty more of our favorite pictures from Hawaii. The settings in this screensaver allow you to choose transition effects. Version 2 is now compatible with Windows Vista.
