BearShare lets you search for, download, and share files with everyone on Gnutella's global peer-to-peer network. This program works with MP3, MPEG, AVI, ASF, MOV, JPEG, GIF, and other file types. It features full documentation (installed with the program), slick graphics, and a user interface that makes searching, downloading, and file sharing easy. It also features upload bandwidth controls, enhanced connection management, and improved downloading.

This version features dramatic improvements in the reduction of busy signals through a Quality of Service indicator. It also features numerous fixes to the operation of "push" downloads (files from firewalled hosts), and special enhancements that protect the network from users consuming excess resources and sending back unreachable search results.
