CNET Editors' review
This superbasic game takes elements of the classic Battleship game to outer space, but its uninspired design, repetitive gameplay, and dearth of features prevent us from really getting excited. As in Battleship, the goal here is to destroy your opponent's spaceship by randomly firing at select quadrants. However, you can't just point and click to blast a missile; instead, you have to click the Aim button, select quadrant numbers from a drop-down menu, then press Fire. The game would probably be more fun if you actually had ships of your own, but in BattleStar, it's a one-sided fight. The sound effects and graphics both are below average. Besides the ability to disable the sound, don't expect any customization options. We could never figure out the purpose of the fuel gauge or the Engage setting, and the meager help files don't offer assistance. Kids might take BattleStar for a test flight, but there's not a whole lot that's compelling here.Publisher's Description
From Gregory Braun:
BattleStar is a small, single-player game similar to the classic Battleship. The gameboard is a 9x9x9 grid representing a 3D galaxy that contains 927 sectors, 60 of which contain enemy warships. You must locate and destroy these enemy invaders before they can establish bases in the galaxy. Version 3.5 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.
