Publisher's description
From Vuze :Azureus is a easy-to-use Java BitTorrent client, with support for 27 languages. Azureus connects to the BitTorrent network. BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer protocol designed to transfer files. Users connect directly to send and receive portions of a file, while a central tracker coordinates the action of all peers and manages connections without knowledge of the contents of the files being distributed. With BitTorrent, users upload at the same time they download, so network bandwidth is managed as efficiently as possible. BitTorrent is designed to work better than other file-transfer protocols as the number of people interested in a certain file increases.
Version 2.3.0.4 adds distributed database bootstrap and IP change handling.

Version: Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4
"Good one but pushes you system too hard"
Pros: Azureus is a decent torrent client. No other client can beat it in handling magnet links. It connects to almost all peers possible. It has good speed in uploading.
Cons: It has problems connecting to the DHT network and this makes finding peers take long. But, this is nothing much.

Version: Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4
"One of the bittorrent clients"
Pros: Its free.
Its open-source.
Downloads are the fastest among all BitTorrent clients.
Supports plugins.
Many clients base its interface directly off of Azureus.
Client provides a lot of information about the torrent that you probably will never use anyway...but its there.
Supports DHT.
Supports multiple tracker downloads.
Allows upload speed limiting.
Works on any Operating System that has Java installed.
Program autodetects updates and lets you download them while you are in the program.
Has built in torrent maker and allows you to host your own torrents.
Allows user to set priority on downloads.
Allows user to pick and choose which individual files within the torrent he or she desires to download. No one is forced to download all the files.
Program not only shows progress for each torrent but progress on each individual file within the torrent.
Cons: Program is a RESOURCE HOG! That is due to the program being built off Java as well as it being a BitTorrent client.
Program shuts down very slowly after downloading for a while.
Program takes an excessive amount of time to check completed downloads for consistency.

Version: Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4
"Next version's gonna be a killer, this isn't quite yet..."
Pros: Splendid interface(splendid!). Extremely user-friendly. Good connectability and easy to port forward(if it's a first for you). Plug-ins with a few necessitys(soon to be standardized in most BitTorrent clients I asume)such as: Autospeeder(automaticly adjusts your up and download speeds to maximize your download), Safepeer(integrated Peerguardian), two synchronized webs that works alongside the original one and many, many others that ranges from useful to just funny and interesting. More to be expected since it's open source(!)too. Overall a good client that ties the second place with BitTornado(that probably has the lowest recource greed of all the clients I've tried, but scares of newbies with a hardcore interface).
Cons: Ram, ram, ram. It's a mantra, let's face it. According to several of my Ram-handlers it initially steals about 70 MB of ram and once it gets going it steals another 20 approx. But there's something fishy about these numbers... Someone spoke of memoryleak and that is precisely the issue at hand. Where does it go? Who knows? Bill G.? It seems to keep leaking Ram like a newborn baby and your first clue of this flaw should be a constant stalling of all the other programs your running. Before you know it it will be forcing you to close every other program directly thru your operative system. And this is with 512 megs of Ram initially and 269 of them free and available! In any terms this is not acceptable. It's kind of like marrying Pamela Andersson Lee. Yes, she is very sweet and charming, you'll probably love each sec... hour of it... but that hepatitus will eventually kill you. Once you've run it, the only way to get that Ram back is to reboot your computer, not even Free Ram Mem. XP PRO works... and that's quite exceptional. Another quirk that I'm sure will get fixed eventually is the not-so-tender love affair it has with your hard-drive. Ever thought about what kind of abuse your hard-drive takes with a non-stop unclustered writing on your precious? You should. This program hammers your hard-drive like there's no tomorrow. Inspite of these flaws this program is the one to be looking for in the future, until then i would recommend the unanumous overall number one, BitComet 0.60(which has a clustered writing, more stable download-speeds that are higher than Azureus in all circumstances except the low-health torrents, an interface that is almost as user-friendly and a lower recource requirement - eventhough it snags 75 MB of Ram - the main part of it is used to buffer the information and saving your hard-drive) or BitTornado(you won't even notice it once you get past the initial set-up. Ram? Not this baby...). Azureus rocks... but it doesn't rock my world... yet.

Version: Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4
"not the best torrentz client !"
Pros: many features & variabilities in it : that may be positive or ... complicate the download fase !
Cons: totally unstable & very high in CPU usage , it can "burn" a lot of RAM to download not often higher than 16 Kb/s on DSL 4M

Version: Azureus BitTorrent Client 2.3.0.4
Pros: Other clients just dont start downloads, this one atleast started downloading.
Cons: It is JAVA based, uses lots of RAM.
For using full bandwidth of my connection, i started 6 downloads simultaneously. Even with 6 downloads it dint use full bandwidth.
But while uploading things are different, it uses full bandwidth available, so i had to manually reduce upload speed.
Torrents are the slowest way of downloading any thing. Download torrents only if there is no other option left.
