Duplicate images can take up a lot of space on your hard drive, but identifying and deleting them can be a major hassle. Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder promises to make this process easier, and it does, to some extent. Depending on the number of duplicates you have, this may or may not be the program for you.
The program's interface is attractive and intuitive. Users simply select the folders they want to scan for duplicates and then click the Start Search button. Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder scanned our hard drive quickly and then displayed the results as a list of file names, with duplicates listed side by side. A preview pane let us visually compare each set of images, and a similarity rating let us know exactly how similar the program found the images to be. This part of the program worked great; it was fast, and the results were thorough and accurate. The problem came when it was time to start deleting images. There's no way to delete them in batches, and if you're working with a large number of duplicates, it can get quite tedious to delete them one at a time. That said, those who don't mind deleting each duplicate individually will find little to complain about with Awesome Duplicate Photo Finder; the program works great otherwise. We also liked the fact that it supports JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP images. A Help file would have been nice, but it's not really necessary; anyone with basic computer literacy will be able to figure it out without problems.

Pros
Quickly finds duplicate and similar photos, presents them for you to compare and act on.
Cons
Only presents two at a time, so if there are 5 copies you deal with them in subsets. Does not present them in any order, such as always having the largest file size on one side of the screen. This makes comparing and selecting a bit more time consuming. It also asks you to confirm each deletion, another extra step when doing many deletions.
Summary
Does a good job with some annoying interface glitches. Like another reviewer, I would be willing to pay for an upgrade that corrects these.

It is very good at finding duplicate and near duplicate photos.
Cons
It can take a long time. But far worse is that is surreptitiously changes your search page/home page in e.g. Chrome to the SearchYa page. Big-time fail!

It did find some photos that are duplicated.
Cons
It displays photos with the same content(pixel to pixel) but different file sizes as 100% similar, and finds completely different photos with 1% similarity, so basically the algorithm used in the software is flawed. And you have to manipulate photos one by one instead of selecting all 100% similar photos and delete their duplicates, for large collection with duplicated photos this would be laborious. There exists another application that does a better job but I cannot remember its name.
Summary
So I find the program I aforementioned, it is called VisiPics.

I had a big mess on my hands with over 11,000 photo duplications. I used two programs to fix my mess. First I download from this Download.com web site the free program called Duplicate File Finder. Has the three squares for an icon. This program found the majority of my duplications. It compares the file names. Now that that was done I wanted to rid my collection of photos of duplicates. This program called Awesome Duplicate Photo uses IMAGE comparison NOT file names to weed out duplicates. It is amazing! I had so many actual duplicates photos with different file names. Not sure how this happened, but since I have had many different computers over the years and have stored many photos on CDs, DVDs, etc., anything was possible. So download both programs!

It can scan within directories and find multiple pictures (and fast), with a rating scale of 100 percent for straight duplicate to very similar photo.
You can delete browse or move individual photos, it is good after a clean swipe of your images so the new images wont be a hassle to find duplicates.
I am starting this application and in ~7 minutes it found ~1900 duplicate images out of 5000 that I had from my camera archives in mixed and matched folders its quite impressive.Cons
No Batch delete

There isn't that much options on it, it is a straight forward scan, compare, etc.. (delete 1 at a time)
There is no option to Batch delete or select multiple photos.
That is a BIG, BIG! problem when facing a fresh or a scan after sometime as most people do & will use this program for that purpose. If you scan your picture library often then this will not be a hassle but this program is for us the forgetful people that don't erase our sd cards from our phones/cameras/etc... as often as we should so end up with duplicates.
I am starting this and in ~7 minutes it found ~1900 duplicate images out of 5000 that I had from my camera archives in mixed and matched folders its quite impressive, but the lack of batch delete or even basic Select+arrow or mouse or Ctrl+click does nothing not even delete button so you have to manually click the delete icon for the respective picture over and over and if your doing around ~1900 duplicates it can and will get tiresome.
Even the settings are to basic but yet don't accomplish what this great program could have achieved if it had a simple batch delete or automatically delete the duplicates.
Hopefully this program does get updated hell even a paid version would not seem out of this world if it had the option to batch delete. -
