Editors' reviewIf you like aquariums but hate to clean them, check out Aqua 3D Screensaver, a good-looking underwater simulation complete with colorful tropical fish and realistic lighting. You get four fish species, water effects, and a convincing scuba-bubble sound effect, all in a 700KB installer. Options include resolution, number of fish, and our favorite feature, the ability to replace the undersea background with your current desktop--with one click, your boring office applications go straight to Davy Jones's Locker. Other options let you adjust the sound, the number of fish, the ripples, and the background. The trial version displays a registration reminder, but that won't keep you from evaluating the screensaver's looks. As for the graphics, they aren't the most impressive we've seen in an aquatic screensaver. The fish look fine, but the bubble and ripple effects need some work. It's not as good as a real aquarium, but at least nobody has to feed the fish while you're away on vacation.
Have a video card with OpenGL hardware support? Show it off with the Aqua 3D Screensaver. Just fill your desktop with water and let the tropical fishes swim around. It includes photo realistic 3D graphics, underwater ripple & lighting effects, 4 types of fishes with skeletal animation and stereo sounds.
